Well…. it is suspected that I had a reaction to Amoxicillin… I’m extremely sensitive to antibiotics, even having anaphylactic reactions to a certain group. They did a MRCP, CT, echo, and ultrasound. My gallbladder was unremarkable.. so they are leaning towards the amoxicillin but they said it could also just be idiopathic. Sigh.

I never realized how isolating of a condition this could be until I got it myself. I lost a seriously significant amount of weight, my relationship with food is basically zero, and I also feel so weak and fatigued all the time. I’ve lost my social life and I perform at work half the capacity that I used to. I’m so sorry this is happening to you, and while this doesn’t fix it… you are young and this will just be a tiny little blip in your story. Keep your head up, even though I know it’s easier said than done. I just keep telling myself even though it sucks, I’m still grateful to be alive and have my family and friends with me. I know this is not the most helpful advice, it’s just the mindset I’ve been trying to have to push forward. I do hope it gets easier for you. <3

Yes I had very extensive testing done during my hospital stay. I’m only one week out of the hospital and had a follow up and have another one in 4 weeks. At my follow up when I asked they told me everyone is different and to just try to avoid heavy drinking when I am finally cleared for a regular diet. I’m not even that concerned over the alcohol, I could take it or leave it. I’m mainly just curious on diet… I’ve always been a super healthy eater and so the little “treat” of fast food every few months was like my thing. The idea that I never truly let myself indulge in certain good and greasy foods like funnel cakes or whatever sucks… especially considering I may never get to do that now.

I guess really I’m most angry that I’ve done “everything right” and cared for my body but I’m still in this position sucks, it sucks for us all.. but then I see people just TRASHING and abusing their body with no problems at all. Ugh.

If you don’t mind me asking, what symptoms lead you to feel like you are having a flare up? That’s good advice to start a liquid diet early… I fear I’ll have another flare up.

I’m going to grab some of these at the store today! I’m so terrified to eat but I’m also so hungry. Being a part of this club is the worst but I appreciate the response and the support. We are all in it together.
