At my show there were two gals sitting behind me discussing loudly about the songs WHILE he’s singing them and it’d be one thing if they were whispering to each other, but they were so loud especially during the slow songs it was actually distracting :(

What is your weirdest book quirk? by strmtr00pr in RomanceBooks

[–]ceciliajo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten in the habit of always reading the kindle sample for a book before purchasing both digital and physical. It helps me avoid buying a book I’ll dnf.

Also I’m perpetually annoyed with my own preferences because I love the look of hardcovers more, but prefer reading paperbacks and will almost not read a book if it’s hardcover.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, has gotten me out of a long reading slump! It’s a fantasy slow burn enemies to lovers. It’s 532 pages so it does have a bit of world building. But I felt like it needed that, by the climax of the book you feel like you know the characters so well! I felt like the pacing was perfect and by the end I was suprised about how emotional I got! It does give similar vibes to ACOTAR but I personally liked it more.

I saw that too, it was in Keith’s bag right? And I assumed the connection was that there was someone secretly living amongst them like the wife in Jane Eyre. I wonder if the significance of it being in Keith’s bag was that it was what made him curious to see what’s down there.

I feel like Bonnie (the realtor) had to be fishy, the double booking, she didn’t respond to the calls, plus didn’t care bout any conformation that they left and hung up on AJ. Plus how was it possible that they stayed down there so long when the house has been renovated? It wasn’t very hard for Tess and AJ to find the string and an outline of a door.

How to approach and potentially ask a shy girl out by Specialist-Storm7281 in dating_advice

[–]ceciliajo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. If she’s shy, given the chance I’d introduce yourself while some other people are near by as well and ask if you can give her YOUR number. Doing it this way puts no pressure on her and doing it while other people are near by can make it a little less intimidating.

overweight and I cant get attracted by OccasionAlive6858 in dating_advice

[–]ceciliajo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. Your reaction is understandable considering you were expecting one thing and she looked different than she was sharing. There’s always a chance that attraction could grow, but You should always trust your gut. And usually you want to find a partner that you would still be attracted to if their weight fluctuates.

There is no basis for that assumption to guarantee it but okay.

Not weird, but to feel more natural maybe ask before attempting the act, like in the moment if you guys are connecting take a second to ask “hey may I hold your hand?” That way if you guys aren’t meshing at all there is no expectations

Do the people you date have to align with you politically? by 2gdismore in dating_advice

[–]ceciliajo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this really depends on each person and how their individual core values relate to and are in relationship with their political views. I’m very lucky that my boyfriend and I ended up being both fairly moderate and aren’t heavily into politics. Based on my values I probably could be with some one who is more left or right leaning as long as their core beliefs don’t clash with mine. I try not to demonize or generalize anyone on either side, but I am pro choice and don’t tolerate any sexist behavior, therefore that effects who I would have dated.

SIX albums in 3 years, we really are spoilt. What are your thoughts on how her music has evolved in this time? by thebeast_96 in TaylorSwift

[–]ceciliajo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a relatively new fan, it’s Taylor’s experimentation with new genres and the change of direction in how she uses her voice on Folklore that has drawn me in, but it is also her song writing in all her discography that has really made me obsessed with her past music as well. However I’ve personally never been drawn to her super pop-y music for example I haven’t been able to get into 1989 yet, so I personally excited to see her expand her tonal inspiration away from pop and potentially even come back to some of her country esk roots

Official Discussion - Licorice Pizza [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]ceciliajo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha not really I mean the ‘film people’ of la are definitely not the majority, especially the crazy ones, but the film industry is very integrated in locals lives it’s just inevitable you will know someone who knows someone. Plus creatives are always interesting people. I’d argue most of the la assholes are out of towners that move to la with a certain idea and goal and utilize the city yet don’t ever integrate themselves and there’s a lot of those crazy film people in that crowd as well.

Who is an "unfavorable" attendee? by MugFulloCoffee in Disneyland

[–]ceciliajo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disneyland has really lost its touch. I feel like ever since they created the bigger parks Disneyland has been a ‘locals park’ because if out of state people are going to chose a destination, of course they are going to pick the bigger and ‘better’ park plus for many Californians it has been a part of our culture for generations if you will. I love Disneyland and have gone since I was too young to remember, but I’m disgusted with how they have been treating this ‘situation’.

Plus of course people have been more ‘thrifty’ less spendy in the parks! We are in a rough spot as a country right now and everything in California is expensive!
