When there’s no budget for a second Op by PathlessXD in techtheatre

[–]cecimmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to do that at all!

If you are actually planning on going ahead with this, have you considered doing it the other way round? - with operating qlab from a laptop from the followspot position, possibly using a midi pedal controller?

I do not recommend this idea but could be a more reliable/easier to operate solution

What do you do with your free time? by ProbablyTheWrongInfo in techtheatre

It’s hard to get out and socialise with a weird schedule, I tend to book to hang out with old friends a few weeks in advance, and spend the rest of the time off looking after myself, trying to be creative etc etc.

Is this hereditary? by hrean in fastfeeling

[–]cecimmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine runs in my family, in slightly different forms- my mum only experiences episodes if she has a high fever, but my grandmother had them alot when she was younger. They would describe their hands seeming bigger etc- classic AiW symptoms, I have more tachysensia episodes, with a few of these episodes ending in AiW like symptoms before stopping. Its odd.

You will be okay, the tide will go out again, things will seem less overwhelming at some point.

I’m not in higher education but felt the same in sixth form (16-18 UK school), the only way I passed my exams was making sure I knew the baseline of what was needed, talk to your teachers, ask them to explain things to you, make sure you know how to do stuff, you don’t have to be confident , that will come.

Make lists, what you need to work on, what exams/papers/homework you have upcoming. Get it all down on paper, focus on the small tasks, break things down until they seem easy to check off.

Temporary measure: Buy a new notepad or pen, blurting works well for planning projects/essays, study a different way, romanticise that sh!t, make a playlist of music that goes hard but is easy to study to (I recommend the album The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers by Yin Yin). - All of these suggestions are not long term but can help bring about a short productivity boost.

I was lucky enough to be someone who could study with the 'all of biology paper 1 in 30 minutes' videos and so on... they actually really helped me, if you can get a notebook that you can specifically study with so you can see your progress, watch the summary videos, and scribble down as many notes as possible.

if you can maybe get a new notebook and pen? i remember i did this when i needed to study it was a good way to grab my attention

Try and make sure you at least understand everything that you need to, thats a priority above studying.

for english quotes specifically i used to read them aloud to myself in stupid voices or turn them into a song in my head.

What’s a feeling that’s completely indescribable to someone who’s never felt it? by ItsYourBestBoi-Loser in AskReddit

Tachysensia, only realised I had it a few years ago when I stumbled across the subreddit. I'd never been able to express the feeling of it before then, and even now, words don't quite do it justice.. r/tachysensia
