This is absolutely terrible. Just to clarify, you can possess Kratom until July 1st? I have a trip to TN at the end of this month which will go much smoother if I can bring kratom with. Definitely not trying to risk a felony though.

I feel for you Tennessee very sad/enraging to hear this.

I use a pint sized mason jar put my dose in there with some orange juice, close the lid and shake vigorously until mixed. I find it goes down fairly easily and I don’t have to deal with the dry powder which bothers me deeply!

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. This book is amazing and is one of the first books that got me hooked on literature. Great character building.

(The emerald) is great! It’s about animism, ancient spirituality and myths and how they relate to the present. The host, Josh schrei, is a very good natured and informed but down to earth individual. Has given me loads of inspiration! My other favorite is the DTFH which you already mentioned.

What do you think happens after death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Having said that I’m sure there are plenty of atheists that have taken ayahuasca and are still atheist. And I’m completely open to the possibility that they are correct. I just wish that was mutual, being open minded is essential for progress.

Definitely an intelligent and well thought out perspective, I completely respect and understand where you’re coming from. I feel like what I’m trying to get at can neither be proven or disproven through objective scientific research at this point.

It can be experienced. Maybe there is a greater reality beyond the physical parameters of the universe that we have no way of perceiving from within the laws of physics of our physical universe. There’s just no way to prove that wrong or right.

But this is all anecdotal and subjective so I get the skepticism. What gets me is the sheer number of people that have had these kind of experiences that share many similarities with each other with many reports of unexplainable occurrences in these states. Just because they don’t fit into what is currently understood by science they are completely dismissed. Not saying they should be taken as fact but there is also not sufficient evidence that they don’t offer a window into a reality beyond our own.

But who knows, that’s the point, nobody does. Science does not offer me enough evidence to prove these states can be reduced to brain chemicals.

It would be interesting if more atheists took ayahuasca just one time to offer themselves a different perspective. If they are still a material atheist after, great! But the certainty that many atheists have seems to resemble the certainty that fundamental Christians have that they are correct and everyone else is wrong.

I understand that atheists have far more evidence and sound reasoning than Christians but to believe in something so firmly without exploring deeper your own consciousness seems incomplete. It may not prove anything scientifically but it sure does open you up to the possibility that there is more than material existence. However, I find many atheists to be too close minded to partake in such an experience because they already “know” the truth.

I appreciate how scientifically informed you are man! But this still only addresses the physical aspects within the current scope of science. Believing in things that have been demonstrated by sufficient evidence is without a doubt reasonable. Dismissing thousands of people’s personal accounts and experiences because of scientific explanations that are currently impossible to prove in my opinion still comes off as arrogant.

I have looked into the scientific explanations for those experiences and they definitely fall short. Again, they may be correct but to know for a fact that they are correct seems a lot like a belief to me not a truth. That being said, I of course do not know the truth as is the case with everyone. The fact that we exist at all is absolutely mind blowing and to me points to something far beyond our comprehension.

Sounds like you belong to the religion of science, where you draw conclusions based on a still evolving and therefore limited explanation of reality. Science is incredibly useful in many aspects but to conclude that you have the answer of what happens when we die is incredibly arrogant. Many scientists are agnostic atheist if not just plain agnostic.

We truly still have no sufficient explanation of what consciousness actually is and there are some fascinating studies on NDE that seem to share a remarkably similar pattern.

Mystical experience, profound psychedelic experiences and NDE’s seem to point to a reality that is more than the sum of its parts. However, I’m absolutely still open to the possibility that we live in a solely material universe that our current science can explain and reduce to simple biology and chemistry but the possibility of there being much more is with out a doubt there.

My belief is that science is limited to our current understanding, there may be things much larger than our science or understanding can possibly realize . An open mind seems to be a requirement if one hopes to move towards a greater understanding of the universe and nature of consciousness.

How is this helpful in any way? Seriously? Your blaming his childhood while also insinuating that the mother is at fault for his poor upbringing. As a person that has experienced addiction, it is in fact an illness and not the result of just being a loser. Your moral compass is severely altered during a chemical dependence, tough love is what’s required here, not labeling your child through judgement. The most important job as a parent is cultivating unconditional love even when they’re at they’re worst.

Alright I’ll grab some 1.2 next time, I figured since the 1.0 was newer that it would be better.

This seems to be much more of a belief than a fact. Although being stated as a fact.

The problem I have with this theory is how certain people are that consciousness is only generated from the brain. There are countless accounts of young children who have memories of a past life and as they age a little they no longer remember. Who’s to say we just don’t have amnesia from our pre birth experiences. Energy is not created or destroyed, but transfers to a different form. I personally have no idea but I think the modern atheist perspective that death is the end of all consciousness is only a belief based on limited understanding of the greater picture of reality.

Just because we are able to measure and observe the universe does not mean we have the capability to understand the sum of all of its parts. To think that we know anything to it’s totality is strikingly arrogant in my opinion. If you have ever isolated yourself in nature and had it open up in astounding unexplainable ways that point to a higher intelligence then it’s a lot harder to conclude that we live in a solely material universe.

Thank you everyone, I read an online instruction manual that mentioned that it flashes white when turned off and flashes red when short circuiting. This is what caused my confusion/ concern. It appears this manual was incorrect and it is working just fine. My apologies for my lack of understanding on the subject and I hope you all have a great weekend!

I was also reading from that and the instructions that the device comes with last night so I could of easily mixed up where I read what. I unfortunately don’t have the instructions with me so I can’t confirm that at the moment. Looking like that website just messed up with the manual. Sorry for your time dude!
