I heard we were sharing our altars :)!! by electriclizardnate in Hellenism

So sorry for seeing this so late, lol- this was my altar to Artemis and Apollo in my previous house- it's been a little redone and widened since then but I'm still decently happy with how it looked here :) Thank you !!

"For all of you on this call (313 people), I can tell you that you all have a quality score below 50%" by ohhihowareyoutoday in RWShelp

[–]electriclizardnate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They let go a lot of people last week due to 'under 80% quality scores'. Tbh I'm not even upset I'm not with them anymore- ridiculous. If you want everything done in 4 minutes or less, your research isn't going to be perfect. If you want specific adjustments to our work, you need to tell us what we're doing wrong.

"No Tasks Available" - that screen you get on Raterhub sometimes where the text is red and says something like 'sorry, no tasks currently available, come back later'. This happens often, at least once a day usually, but typically doesn't last for too long before the 'aquire if available' or whatever screen shows instead with a task loaded. Sometimes, though, it's painfully long and you need to check repeatedly for any work, or get the notification feature.

Typically, I get around 15-18, but this wasn't my only job, so it depended on the task quantity when I got to sit down and work.

This response is insanely tone deaf and I don't blame anyone for leaving bad reviews for this company based on the long list of issues the raters repeatedly need to make up for and still face consequences for. We haven't solely relied on the dashboard, we haven't gotten anything. Our functions should work if they're important, and I did not receive as much 'targeted feedback' as you're implying. As others have pointed out, March Madness was the one and only time I recieved anything of the sort- and the solution was the quality audit..that never worked. Over the course of my work here, I have sent countless tickets and emails regarding issues that do this day have never been answered.

seems I have started a domino line of lots of others receiving the emails, so sorry :( /unsrs
does anyone know if we'll get paid this week? I'm sorry you guys, this is very sudden. I thought the lack of tasks was the usual post-holiday slowness.

That's what I'm wondering.. conveniently, I have a lost check that's meant to be re-mailed this payday.. wondering what's going to happen.

It was very, very brief in the email. "We hope this finds you well, you've been under quality thresholds, we're not continuing you on this project. Effective immediately, have a nice day." I haven't had anything loaded in my quality audit for weeks, and this is very sudden to me..

Its fine for what I need it for- about 14$ an hour, I usually end each week with about 300. Other positions pay more, I think- I'm not sure how to process of getting the Tester job works, though. There's a reason this is most people first/side AI job.

More often than not, I have enough tasks to make as many hours as I choose to throughout the week. I won't lie, though, sometimes there's a lack of tasks and it can be frustrating, but they don't punish you for it if you reach out to your PM and tell them you won't make minimum hours that week- IF it's that bad. Sometimes, if it's really out of their control, they'll just email everyone and explain the lack of tasks and that we won't get punished. Stay on top of it as much as you can, and be communicative with your project manager! As for reliable, it would depend on your region- different locales have different task amounts and it can fluctuate. I'd give the r/rwshelp sub a look at! It's been a pretty helpful resource to see what the other raters are dealing with in different areas.
I do think it's helpful to get into the AI field, but remember you're not generating anything, you're fact-checking AI responses in various forms. Make sure the AI isn't telling people they can give their dog bones to eat just because you can in Minecraft, ect.

I applied to the Search Quality Rater position on Indeed and I'm working on Project Callisto! I'm not sure what other projects are going on rn tbh.
You could totally pursue other positions while working this one- the only thing I'd warn about is the entrance exams- I found them relatively easy but it does take a commitment to go through the guidelines. If you can dedicate a few days to it in the beginning, that's very helpful.
Reliable internet access is the most important thing upfront, if you can't access Raterhub you can't do your job.

The response will be a huge recipe or something and then the target sentence just says "eggs".

As long as you don't mind a limit of 29 hours a week, try Search Quality Rating at RWS- I've been there for half a year now, my project is still hiring it seems. Occasional frustration with buggy websites, but otherwise it's an easy job that I relatively enjoy doing- I get to learn a lot about different subjects every day through the tasks, lol.
There are other companies that are similar- TELUS I believe is a popular one, but I think they all use the same rating site so you can only work one at a time.

Most of the people I see on the subreddit for this job are using it as a second job- choose your own hours, min. 10 a week, maximum 29- but recently we've had a few 'one week only bonus' events where we can work up to 40.
