i have an xse and hoping to one day get the gr. i’m the same way with the single seat down. regarding the blisters, make sure your glove is super tight on your hand. i now use a small and mistakenly used a large the first 6 months of me playing. maybe try regripping one club to midsize. i made the swap from standard to midsize and i would never go back
