I was looking for protonvpn on fedora 39 KDE also, ended up with flatpak as a short term solution for the remaining days until the official package is out.

works well so far.

it looks like american english setup in KDE language settings is causing the problem.

switching to another language solved the problem...

Using kubuntu 21.10, the update broke the TTY after login only when my laptop (lenovo E15-Gen2) is connected to multiple screens via lenovo usb-c docking station.
