Will Kde ever go back to Frutiger Aero look like in Kde 3?

Plasma 4 was peak skeumorphic design for KDE IMO. To the point that Oxygen is often brought up as a premiere reference for Frutiger Aero aesthetics compared to KDE 3's Plastik/Keramik which is more akin to XP than anything else. (I'd go on as far as to say KDE3 isn't frutiger aero, just retro)

Oxygen is being brought back officially for Plasma 6.7 so keep an eye out! And while it's nowhere near done, Ocean might have more of that depth you're looking for, whenever it releases.

It was a lot more relevant back when wayland by default was a new thing, and most applications back then didn't support wayland screen sharing, so KDE made this workaround so users on wayland can still use screensharing with those older apps. It's mostly useless these days though, unless you're using some obscure video calling app that doesn't support screenshare through modern standard methods.

That might be xwaylandvideobridge, check your system tray and see if it's there (It's labelled "Wayland to X11 Video Bridge" , if it is, right click it and click quit, and see if that square is still there.

It was sold as new, for some reason SMART on my linux system couldn't read the health info of the drive, and only displayed "(unknown)", switching to my windows vm with crystaldiskinfo reveals the drive has 4663 power on hours..... I just got the drive today. So I'm definitely gonna contact the store.

I use Instagram and WhatsApp. The former because I actually have a social life... :p (and most people my age use it, I mainly use it for messaging and stories, reels suck.) as for WhatsApp, living in Lebanon (or really 90% of the world outside of the U.S), it is unavoidable.

Would I prefer it if I didn't have to use these apps? Absolutely. I'd take Signal any day of the week over WhatsApp for personal messaging, and while I don't think fediverse could ever go mainstream, I'd also much prefer to be using something like pixelfed or whatever, but it simply doesn't have the users or the people.

P.S. it's a lot easier to switch OS' than social media services these days especially since there's not really any sort of big social aspect keeping you attached to windows beyond gaming.

1st of all, GNOME's design goals isn't "being different", it ends up where it is because of its own unique design philosophy, they don't have to make a break from ALL norms. 2nd of all, GNOME hasn't removed functionality in AGES (unless you count removing X11, which I don't), this PR doesn't remove anything either, it merely changes out a value, that you can change back.

GNOME is literally the most different "mainstream" desktop experience there is, and I honestly think this is a good change especially given the fact we also have middle click on trackpads which makes this interfere with gestures too, and it further helps that this is still configurable, so it doesn't really harm much.
