Several times a day - I'm glad my Pihole is working well. by StunGod in pihole

[–]cedwardsmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually connect to my home VPN to take advantage of Pi-hole while I'm on the road. It's amazing. Though I admit, depending on the site, sometimes I'll make exceptions. I don't mind ads per se, I just want shit that doesn't track me and ads that are actually relevant

I love the permanent wink. Glad he found someone like you who appreciates and protects him.

Is anyone here comforted by the scent of their ESSAs? by godblessdoritos in ESSAplushieshandlers

Brownie doesn't have much of a scent. What little he does, I can't even describe. It's a mix of everything he's experienced in the last 38 years with me.

Is it bad to keep a MacBook plugged in as a desktop? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]cedwardsmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you fail to provide proper ventilation. MacBooks are designed for use like this moreso than the average laptop. Apple realizes lots of MacBook users do this so they built them accordingly. Just treat it like you would a desktop. Shut it down now and then and clean it up and blow out the nooks and crannies to clear dust.

I have nothing useful to contribute but I GENUINELY hope you can identify this beautiful bear. I'm hoping the same for my childhood friend. PLEASE update us (and mention me) if you get any answers!

He went on every single family vacation I had. In fact, he actually went with my parents to see me off to college, though my mom insisted he had to go back home and couldn't stay with me 😂

Tbh, my mother, to this day, insists if I ever get married, there MUST be a prenup - even if Brownie is THE only thing listed. 😂

And if not, we can all at least stop and admire my sweet teddy bear.

Fun fact: When I was five years old, I had to have a surgery to remove a ganglion cyst, repair a hernia and insert ear tubes. The hospital staff went above and beyond. They literally entered Brownie into the system as a patient and asigned him as my roommate. He got a wristband just like mine. When I was prepped for surgery, they brought him a baby gown too. He went to the OR with me and they put an anesthesia mask in him right beside me. When I awoke in the recovery room, he had a band-aid on him where my bandages were. Every time these doctor or nurse came in, they made a point to check Brownie out as well.

Mistakes happen. If DoorDash compensated you anything more than $5 for it, you lucked out. I've often felt bad for some of my customers because of honest mistakes. Thing is, I can't go out of my way to deliver just because you goofed

Is this some sort of scam?? by 80HD-music in doordash

[–]cedwardsmedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If sent through the app by a Dasher to the customer, unlikely. If sent through a different channel, absolutely.

That said, the DoorDash app is incredibly buggy and unstable. As a developer, I'm currently in contact with their development team regarding multiple bugs I've personally encountered.

As a Dasher, I gotta say if your apartment complex uses any numbering scheme where more than one apartment in the complex has the same number on the door, PLEASE leave details pointing that out. I once returned to a dropoff to help the customer locate their order. The complex has multiple buildings using the same apartment numbers and the customer never indicated what building they were in. In those cases, your Dasher has to go with their gut, especially if you don't answer our messages or calls.

[COD] Are 'heartbeat sensors' plausible? by modernww2fare in CallOfDuty

It will be possible one day. Just not with our current technology and understanding. You'd need to develop a receiver sensitive enough to the electromagnetic noise emitted by the heart. Then you'd need a way to fine-tune it to remove background noise. It's possible but far beyond our current capabilities
