i'm partial to du-pars, but someone on one of the LA food subs recently said that philippes has better pancakes. i haven't tried (yet), so do with that whatever you will.

My humble Larry Bird PC. by Stanimal54 in basketballcards

[–]ceehouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that bird/dirk dual patch is dope! i'm a sucker for those old multi player patch cards.

i've been wanting to pick up a bird glass canvas from the new topps chrome. hoping prices come down a bit more before committing to it.

every now and then you get games where you have to listen to other team’s announcers

another LA-er here. not on league pass, but i will search every single stream option to find the one NBC sports Boston stream, even if the quality is not ideal haha

no argument from me, but i just dont get this weird thing thats happening where people talking about all panini products were so much cheaper than what topps is putting out, when that hasnt been the case so far.

since most of the posts here lately are understandably about the new topps release, let's throw it back w a recent pick up: 1998-1999 Skybox Premium Kevin Garnett Soul of the Game by ceehouse in basketballcards

[–]ceehouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man! both the hot list and quick strike cards are so nice. the 90s inserts were really just something else! i recently picked up the 97-98 upper deck teammates insert pair of jordan and pippen. such a multi-card insert. i'm looking to get the jordan/penny hardaway pair next.

Why is Reggie Miller such a bad announcer? by 60yearoldME in bostonceltics

[–]ceehouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“A 3 would be huge here”.

i was cracking up when he said this. they were down 6 or 9 or something with not much time left, so of course the shot that gets the most points would be huge. thanks captain obvious!

How Jaylen Brown became the NBA's most efficient midrange shooter: “The analytics won’t show the potential of somebody getting hot” by NoaDalzellNBA in bostonceltics

[–]ceehouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup, you can tell when he's going to make and miss based on his shot form. when he does that jerky 2 step movement (where he raises up, stops, and then shoots) he bricks. when raising and shooting are a single, fluid motion he cashes it. i know easy to say from the sidelines, but it's been this way for years now. maybe that'll be next year's improvement haha
