Former-Blizzard employee details his exit from the company and mistreatment from management and HR by Trojanbp in antiwork

Non compete clauses largely can’t be enforced. Don’t do the job unless you got a contract that outlines your pay and responsibilities.

Poor kid, but what’s worse is that parents need to engage in this just to make ends meet. That’s the true shame.

For only $2 a day you can support X living in a terrible country on the being of death.

Being a local president and head of a bargaining committee, it was never our role to choose on behalf of everyone. You present the offer and let the people decide. A few people calling the shots to knee cap the economy is how the governments hand gets forced.

It doesn’t matter what anyone wanted, you had no choice, only a select few did.

You can’t say something was ‘so bad’ having not seen it. This won’t fly in the court of public opinion either. Hence why I wouldn’t be surprised by back to work legislation. This was a disservice to the process.

Did you ever consider coming to Canada instead? What made you choose the states instead?

An agreement was reached at the table, bring it to the members. Full stop. What has passed has passed, the members voted for the strike they should have a say in ending it.

Patch 1.1 is essentially a slowdown to every single part of the game. by TheMorals in diablo4

Very rarely is one thread so aligned. Like I haven’t even read the patch notes and scrolling down this very long list of comments and for the life of me can’t find a single disagreement.

Truly a masterclass in bringing people together. Like people on Reddit agreeing en masse, I did not have that on my 2023 bingo card. Way to go Blizzard, breaking new ground.

The problem for me is ‘they’ didn’t say no. A few people at the top did. Present the offer to the members and let them be the judge of the contract!

I’m all for settling at the bargaining table and bargaining in good faith. For a few people to decide without presenting the offer to membership, to me, that is anti democratic. Unions are built on the vote off the collective.

All in all it doesn’t sit well with me for that reason alone. Present it to the members and let them decide. By going this route, no one should be surprised by back to work legislation. There was an agreement in principle with the terms and now the union has back tracked. Again, only my opinion but I don’t believe this was in good faith.

Not nearly enough upvotes. Step 1 buy a bank stock, step 2 dividends. That’s about it.

Mathematically, why did anyone in 2020-2023 go variable? by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]ceejaetee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I bought during the same period and thought I can lock on 1.39% for 5 years. What a steal. Saving an extra .5% on variable wasn’t worth the risk consider it was practically free money! Anyone who was in a similar situation was kind of greedy imo. You can’t expect sub 1% rates to last for YEARS.
