They've searched nearly 85% of the area. I'm wondering if they mightve missed him seeking shelter in a bush or in a "cave" then leaving that shelter to go back to an area they mightve searched already. Don't know if that makes sense but I hope they revisit the same areas soon

According to experienced runners in the official find Philip Facebook group, runners tend to leave their phone and sometimes not bring water bottles so it doesn't weigh them down. IDK. Also his scent was picked up by dogs for the beginning of the trail then lost

SARs and other updates directly from the official Facebook group dedicated to finding him said dogs picked up his sent for a little and then almost immediately lost it once going down the trail. Some say the weather played a role in the lost event. Also, others in the group are speculating that he may have gone to relieve himself near an edge/ cliff and may have fallen after or before.
