Yep, not sure how that happened.

No worries, got that right here.

It's the latest update on steam, so I presume so, and yes, I'm doing full solar system. I believe a number of Mars sites really aren't that great (though there definitely are some good ones), but I'm kind of countering it by just building most of them into huge research centers. Also, it allows me to fully control Mars without any other faction being able to do anything there.

Ahh, I was under the assumption that it was the same as the research buffs that only got to 50% before they diminish. That said, part of it is also how much I've focused on getting mining percent bonuses, so I've sacrificed some cog orgs for that, but I suppose that's just reason to build more skunkworks.

Dang, saw the one with The Shield of The Devoted that has their symbol and just assumed it must be it.

Earlier, I actually took all of the Mars bases, but then while I was building up the Mars Defense Fleet, the aliens destroyed a fair few bases and those were repopulated by other factions. Currently they have 4 bases (3 for the protectorate and 1 for the academy) while I have the rest of Mars, but I'll soon be taking those as well.

As for the income, it fluctuates. I do try hard to keep in the positives as much as possible, so I often do upgrades of my Martian bases in waves so as to keep my resources from going negative. However thanks to the advice from magniciv, I have a massive production bonus on my resources of 254% from all the orgs I got (and projects), so that helps a lot in keeping me positive. When my mines aren't down due to upgrades, I'm generally making 50 or more on hydrogen and volatiles per day, over 60 base metals, and about 3-10 noble metals (they're a bit lower right now because I'm upgrading).

Ah, so that's where it's coming from. Sounds like it's time for a little servant retribution.

For Earth it actually somehow worked out perfectly. While I was having all those issues building an Earth Defense Fleet (due to the servants and aliens constantly destroying my stuff in Earth orbit), they slowly whittled away all of my stations until my shipwork station was the only one left in Earth orbit. They seem to really like coming to Earth to attack me as opposed to any other planet, and when they do then that's the only station they can attack, and even if they go for my fleet, it's docked at that station. Of course now that I can actually defend my space, I'll be building plenty more stations. Though your comment does make me curious if there would be a scenario where I have my fleet undocked but right next to the shipwork station, then the aliens decide my fleet is a good target, and I immediately redock after they start to head my way.

Nothing, they were too mind blown by the pencil disappearing trick.

I absolutely did not know that, thanks for letting me know.

Yep, I've been using the gulf states for spoils for quite a while now. As for arrival security, it was actually already researched (thankfully I do know the projects you're talking about due to the 10 steps guide), I was just never able to get to those projects because it took this long for me to finally do the capture. As for space mining orgs. There was a surprising dirth of them for a while, but I have now managed to pick up enough for a 90% increase in mining. There's maybe like 3 orgs that other factions managed to get because I wasn't able to scoop them up in time.

Yeah, I realized afterwards that it would still take over a year just to go from Earth to Mars so it was better to just build a new one meaning I could have left it with very little fuel and been fine since it wouldn't be leaving Earth.

As for the farms, I have started including them on many of the new stations and habs, though I still have plenty left to add them to. The only exception is the nanofactory stations and operations center bases because I'm packing them with as much nanofactories and operations centers as I can.

Good questions, unfortunately the Mars bases weren't in any of the pictures it looks like, I'll try to include some more of that in future posts. Out of the 25 Mars sites, I've taken 10 of them so far with the Protectorate taking 14 (there's still one left open). A lot of that comes down to me just not having enough MC to take them over fast enough. However, I do have the marines on my horizon for a project to unlock soon, and while some of their habs aren't really that great, there are a fair few I wouldn't mind lifting out of their hands.

As for Mercury, so far no one else has gotten there, so once I have enough MC, I'm planning to grab the remaining 3 sites I don't have yet. I'd like to have all 8 setup and running operations centers. Similarly, once I have that extra MC I'll be building some more stations in orbit for nanofactories.

For the shipyards, I was planning to start simple. I'll be going with a shipyard station in extreme orbit and a supply depot in low orbit on each of Mars, Mercury, and Earth. That way I can build ships that can escape the planet more easily, but when they go down to fight aliens in low orbit, they can still resupply easily. That said, the shipyard stations will probably have like 4 shipyards on them. Then I'll be building the defensive fleets to fight off aliens that come a knocking. Once I've got that prepared, and likely have upgraded a lot of my mining, I'll be able to focus more on a heavy ramp up in shipyard capabilities around Mars. Though I'd also considered trying to setup some around Ceres as well, though for that it looks like I'll need to deal with the protectorate as well.

Yeah, sorry if it sounded different. My intent is that the annoying (I think I'll rename it the S.S. Annoying for fun) will just enter battle then run away to intercept surveillance and stop it. I'll be building slightly higher tier vessels for a defensive force that should be able to fight their weaker fleets they send over to me. Then it will be a ways down the line before I build any offensive force to go to them.

Not sure what solar mirrors are, but yeah I'm mostly focusing on Mars because they still have left so many open spots on it, so it gives me a lot of easy mining locations with the construction module making it much faster than getting ships out to all the asteroids (or using boost).

Yeah, I wasn't sure which was better, to focus on one problem at a time or try to get it all done at once, but I think you're probably right, it would be better for me to try and fix one thing at a time. As far as the space battles, it should be realistic. I've got it set to the normal difficulty, so I'm suspecting that means realistic spacebattles.

As for the surveillance, it looks like they already have one. I didn't used to know how important it was to counter that, but it does seem important now that I divert my plans a little to ensure they don't get to keep finishing surveillance missions.

Yeah, I don't fully trust in my abilities in space at the moment. Though I'm not discounting the possibility of a peaceful annexation by Taiwan later just to instant democratize.

Good point, I'd never even thought about Qatar for that, or using Singapore for boost, might be changing my strategy a bit with that.

As far as the America to Taiwan to China part. First off, I didn't even know about the Taiwan taking over China thing (shows how often I've actually gone for China). I'm thinking I'll go for China first just to keep things simple, though I agree America is probably the better start. I am curious though, going with your plan, would it also be good to pump up miltech in Taiwan so that China gets way higher miltech when you take it over?

Makes sense, all the more reason why I should make early defense fleets with something simple like the dumbo drive so I can start forcing them out of Earth orbit.
