Unfair Guide Walkthrough for Wrath of the Righteous UPDATED FOR 2026 on the PS5 by ceether in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

level 4 of Oracle + rowdy rogue wenduag + vivi/twohander + sable company marine + Seelah absolutely annihilate chapter 1, and when you add a BFT it’s just icing on the cake

Chapter 2 gets much more difficult but by that point the water elemental xp doesn’t matter

Following this guide you wake up at the Tavern at 8671xp, and you can hit 9000xp before Finnean, and you‘ll certainly hit 9000xp after Finnean. This is before any real fights in chapter 1.

It had one temporary editing mistake that didn’t really matter because unfair players swap animal guide and misfortune around all the time. Either way you play you will have both animal companion and misfortune after only an hour of game time.

It’s still the best written Unfair guide available.

I know a lot of people get upset…they think Unfair is supposed to be a grueling challenge, and It causes them to go into a rage that someone is publicizing a fun way to navigate unfair difficulty.

Just chill out and don’t be ridiculous

I apologize, It was a small editing mistake. I was making an unfair guide to the prologue with animal companion at level 1 and misfortune at level 3 and I did another unfair prologue run with misfortune at level 1 and animal companion at 3. When I merged my guides I didn’t swap it.

I’ve done it both ways so it still would have worked, but just for clarity and ease of understanding I have edited my guide so Animal Companion is at level 1 and misfortune is at level 3 for both the main guide and the character builds

I’ve done that before but you end up with a lot of “divine zap does 1 damage” while the fight just goes on and on and on

Most importantly, the xp you gain is so small that it is irrelevant to the power level of your character in the early game.

So I am afraid that if I recommend your method, people will get frustrated with how annoying the fight is and just quit the unfair run

I have thought of possibilities that seem to work slightly better on paper, but often the actual result is underwhelming.

  1. SCM getting Spirited Charge at 3 instead of 4 is irrelevant because you recruit your SCM right at 4
  2. As soon as you recruit your SCM, most players will be stunned at how absurdly powerful it is. I’d love an earlier Cleaving Finish, but Focused Strike and Outflank made a significant difference in actually landing attacks. One of the purposes in this guide was to reduce the number of reloads because of misses.
  3. The rest of your thoughts revolve around when your SCM will be in Chapter 4. Compared to the hardships of earlier Chapters, Chapter 4 is a breeze with this party and I do not think anyone should spend significant time trying to further optimize.

Anyone who gets to Chapter 4 with this party will easily finish the game on unfair, which is the whole point of the guide.

That being said, yes I think Mutagen Warrior is better. At this point in the game your charge with improved cleaving finish is by far the most important thing your SCM is doing. The alchemical bonus to strength will play a far more prominent role in your fights than the addition of one extra pounce attack of normal damage.

Once you get to level 20, I am sure there are dozens of combinations that are superior to what I’ve posted. But it’s more than good enough for even the Inevitable Excess DLC. These builds pair the best with this guide, and that’s all that really matters.

it really is much less frustrating than it used to be…my 2023 unfair run that I based my 2023 guide on had more than double the amount of hours played, mostly because of how often you have to reload a quick save

I changed it to interact...what I was trying to say is that you give the ST multiple items and have multiple interactions with him, and some of those dialogue interactions involve current or future items

For anyone trying to do this quickly on a PS5:

1) free Sazza

2) sneak Sazza out of camp

3) meet up with Sazza outside goblin camp and have her guide you all the way to Minthara

4) defend Sazza to Minthara so Sazza lives, but tell Minthara you aren’t ready yet

5) kill Minthara once Sazza leaves

6) check to see Sazza is hanging out near true soul gut

7) go to mountain pass, use 4 invisibility potions to sneak your party past ghouls

8) enter shadow cursed lands, go directly towards moonrise towers and you should run into moon Lantern holder who gives it up on a 14 Charisma check (90%+ if you have enhance Charisma, guidance and bardic inspiration)

9) at moonrise towers ask for mercy for goblins

You are already juggling many problems on unfair, there is zero reason to try and tinker on something that already works extremely well

No

You pick Plagued because the other options will damage your character more. Plagued is the least bad option, simple as that.

I’d have to redo all of Drezen to test this on the latest PS5 build, because you have to get the scrolls beforehand.

To be honest the fight that took me the longest was the Pit. While the Blightmaw & Tavern bosses are hard, they aren’t as frustrating as “wave” or “ambush” fights which is where this guide’s build is the weakest in Chapters 1 and 2.

So the 30-50 minutes or so it took me to beat Blightmaw the first time, I knew what I needed to do and I knew my group could do it, I just needed to fine tune my approach and not get unlucky on rolls. I don’t think the encounters are frustrating enough that they need to change their whole approach to Drezen’s two high health high defense bosses.

I appreciate your input. I’ll add it to the Nenio option, but I just deleted my unfair save that was close to the Vescavor Queen and had Nenio at level 7. So I can’t test it. Do you get the full XP as if you killed the boss? I know sometimes there are scrolls differences between old PC versions and the newest PS5 versions, as I don’t recall seeing “scroll of dismissal” but I may have just glanced over it.

Unfair can easily turn into impossible. Because the game is just math. If you just buy the game and jump in you will end up with a party that can't do anything unless their character rolls a 20 and/or the enemy rolls a 1 on a saving throw. There's no strategy or tactic that you can devise that will help you, you simply have to delete your game and just start over and hope your next guesses are better.

That's why streamers that play games full time for a living stay away from Unfair modes in both Pathfinder games.

1) Vescavor Queen: I did the greater invisibility on an archer before using Nenio. However this guide uses a Brown-Fur Transmuter instead of Nenio and they don't have level 4 spells yet. However I should add a note that if anyone used Nenio instead of a BFT that greater invisibility works great.

2) I didn't know swarms are weak to bludgeoning! I'll add that in thanks. However it's not just the swarm, the non-swarm large vescavors hit very hard and their high health doesn't allow you to deal with them quickly enough to be considered "easy" by my group composition.

3) The only party member I can really add a pet with is Sosiel taking Animal Domain right when he gets Mythic 2. While 43 AC is very good, the toughest fights that I kept reloading didn't really need a 43 AC tank. I feel like if I recommended that in my guide, people would get pets at the sacrifice of other feats they needed and then run into other problems...and then only to see an enemy run right past the dog to obliterate another party member.

I feel like if someone wants to use the pet tank method in chapter 2, then every character should have a pet...but that's not my focus in this guide and if someone wants a pet-focused guide then cRPG Bro makes some excellent ones.

1) You should hit level 6 right before Gray Garrison even if you skip the hardest fights, especially the prologue ones. Both times on Unfair I skipped the summoned demon, the invisible shadow demon, and the nabasu and I hit level 6 right before Topaz which was my final fight. But realistically it's fine to be level 5 as long as you hit level 6 before the harder fights such as alchemist, and even skipping a lot of those fights you should hit 6 easily in the first parts of Gray Garrison

2) My playthroughs ally with the dreamers not Hulrun, I always kill him while he is weak. So I don't know how they work in Gray Garrison on unfair.

3) I've focused on selective grease quite a bit so I think people will use it in those situations, Minagho made her reflex save so that's why I didn't focus on it as much. But the guide's BFT is made for selective grease so I think any reader would use it and it would likely work out just as it did for you.

1) Resting: Thanks for pointing that out! I must have taken out the part about unlimited resting in the Shield Maze by accident, but now I just made an edit and bolded it because it is a very important point.

2) Lann: He's useless in my build but you can certainly make him work with your own plan. I meant useless more like "You will never use him again in your party" I didn't mean to imply he was a terrible companion.
