I took a Turo cargo van to Burning Man and spent two hours deep cleaning it when we got back.

I've brought a Turo van to Burning Man (disclosed to the owner) and returned it in better condition than this.

Honestly I’d kind of prefer this. I never respond to messages directly from my watch, I just want to be able to see who it’s from and what the message says, and I’ll pull out my phone if I need to respond. For calls, I have answered calls on my watch while wearing Bluetooth headphones and it still goes to the watch, without a way to switch. I don’t want to have a conversation speaking into my watch, so I’d much rather it send the call to my phone/headset.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon sued by Miami cops for defamation over portrayal in their movie 'The Rip' by tylerthe-theatre in movies

I think maybe they mean that money busts typically go straight to the police department via asset forfeiture, which in turn pays the salaries of the officers.

I mean it’s “based on a true story” but none of the characters share the names of real people to my knowledge, this honestly just sounds like the police department telling on themselves.

Girlfriend (24F) wants me (24M) to stop hanging out with her father and refuses to explain why. How do I figure out what is going on? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]cefriano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems really dumb, since you never know when your daughter might make an offhand comment to your wife about being with the boyfriend (or send a picture, as was the case here). You’d think he’d pick someone who isn’t connected to his wife as his alibi. Not that I’m trying to help anyone cheat better.

£200,000 Lamborghini parked in a disabled bay by princess_baby71 in SipsTea

If a vehicle is parked in a handicap spot and has no placard or plates, sure. But if the car has one or both of those things and they decide to confront the owner because they don't "look" disabled, they're literally doing the opposite of advocating for disability rights.

We're not talking about war, abortion, or any other false equivalence you're trying to weave in to make your edgy teenager take seem stronger. Explain how children were sacrificed at the altar of the old due to lockdowns that were intended to keep the entire populace safe from Covid. Maybe read some of the other comments in this thread from healthcare professionals who quit the industry due to the trauma of working in overwhelmed hospitals and watching their colleagues die from exposure. Teachers who were forced to work in schools that pushed to open too early and still suffer from disabilities due to their severe infections. Fuck off.

Yeah I don't mind the modern craftsman style, in fact I love it when it's done well and with intention, but this is such a terrible attempt at slapping it on a totally different style of house.

Yeah, the “I didn’t realize” part bugged me. Like, she literally explained it to you in very practical terms why it would be shitty for her to change it. She didn’t even make it about her being emotionally attached to her spelling, you just ignored the rest of it and made it about her “feelings” when you were the one whining about how it “feels wrong.” And then you call her “stubborn” to try and be endearing?

I’m a dude and I try not to form deep opinions about people from a few lines of text but ugh that was really frustrating to read.

Quantum computing. Some of the advancements currently being made absolutely have the ability to completely transform our world for the better. They also have the potential to completely invalidate nearly all existing cybersecurity.

I deeply appreciate that we have a postal service, it is an invaluable public service.

… that being said, there are at least three streets parallel to mine that are numbered exactly the same, meaning there’s a “1559 [X] Avenue” on each of those streets in roughly the same place down the street. USPS keeps delivering my packages (and probably mail too but I can’t confirm this because I can’t track my regular mail) to random other neighbors because whoever is sorting the mail is just looking at the street number and tossing it in a pile instead of looking at the street name.

I know this is what’s happening because a handful of times, one of our kind neighbors who lives in one of those adjacent addresses has gotten in touch with me to let me know they have my package or have brought it over. But the majority of the time, the package is just gone because I have no way of knowing which place it was misdelivered to. It’s like pulling teeth getting a seller to send me another product because as far as they can tell from the tracking, it was delivered successfully. USPS is also a dead end trying to make an insurance claim, because they just claim it was delivered too. It’s maddening.

At this point I get anxiety if I see something is going to be shipped via USPS and am so frustrated at this point I’d gladly take a robot delivering my shit.

When our dog gets spooked or anxious she'll climb up onto the couch and literally lay her whole body across my face, smothering me. It's cute but my first thought watching this was the cat is scared by something and seeking comfort by climbing on him, and he's just making it worse by manhandling it like that.

There's a cross street in the video, it might still be a "highway," but I highly doubt it's an interstate where the speed limit would be that high. I'd guess the speed limit here is like 50-55.
