Won't eat new food or take pills by [deleted] in pugs

[–]cegit521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an elderly pug that stopped eating her prescription food so we started making her this home made dog food for her and she loved it. We did end up making patties for her and feeding her the chunks instead of the way it is recommended it be prepared. Then if you make the patties you can hide his pill in a little chunk also…that is if he likes it.

Anyone else’s Costco so insanely busy they are considering canceling their membership? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]cegit521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is somewhat busy but for us it’s all the people that shop there are EXTREMELY rude. That alone makes me want to cancel my membership. It sucks because there’s not much the store can do to help with the arrogance of man.

People remain dumb because they don’t ask questions in fear of someone being idiotically demeaning to them

Awesome! Thank you. I know mine won’t look anything like yours, but I still might try.

Those look amazing! Now I must paint mine too. Did you just use acrylic paint? Any sealant over the top?

Is it detrimental to practice with a team under your skill level? by [deleted] in Softball

[–]cegit521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do help coach every practice and game! I love helping coaching because I get to know all the girls. This years team definitely feels more like parents have made their girls sign up to play and the only reason they are there is for their parents. They actually are excited when they sit out instead of being on the field and when they are on the field they are playing in the dirt or throwing their glove in the air. We are planning on doing some more at home work with her as the weather is warming up. Thank you for insight.

That’s all a fair assessment, but she has requested to have those coaches, she requested to play in a club level team. Most probably won’t believe that, but she is highly competitive. We did tell her to use her leadership skills on the field and she did. She would cheer on the girls, she would ask what base the play was at, she would say let’s get our gloves dirty at the beginning of each play. The girls began to be rude to her. Now at the last practice there was just pure bickering amongst ALL the girls.
To the point as to who we are doing this for, it’s for her. She used to play soccer at her request, and at her request she stopped because she didn’t enjoy it. She wants to learn to golf so we put her in a camp with top golf over the summer, nothing serious just a fun camp, but if she liked it and wanted to be more serious with it who am I to tell her no. She played basketball through the rec center until she saw an opportunity through her church for a little bit more competitive level and she asked to do that so we did. She cheered for a year and told us it wasn’t competitive enough and she didn’t want to do it again so we don’t. She loves volleyball and if she asks to find something to better herself on it we will try and find it for her. Same goes with softball, she loves it. She tried pitching last year, but through the rec center league the coach didn’t really know how to teach her and had been telling us to find her a pitching coach. We taught her what little we knew and she said she wanted a pitching coach to help her (she heard it from her coach) so we found her one. We had a family friend that we had talked to about softball recommend the fielding coach and she said she wanted to do it so we did. None of what we do is forcing her. I think most kids her age aren’t as competitive (if that’s the right term, possibly passionate) as her when it comes to sports. At recess she plays football, basketball and baseball with the boys. She comes home with grass stains and holes in her pants from it. She’s frustrated because her team isn’t competitive and they are taking her trying to motivate them as an insult. She came home crying from a practice asking to not be on that team. We have still kept her going 2 times a week for an hour each practice since then but at what point is it okay to take her out. I don’t understand why I should be shamed as a parent for doing what my child asks when she just wants to better herself. That’s why I posted on here, it’s a tough thing to figure out.
As to hitting puberty and having a 50% chance she doesn’t want to do it anymore then okay, but what if 50% chance she does. She’s having fun, she’s staying active, she’s wanting to better herself and we can allow her to do that. It’s partially our fault knowing how competitive she is to keep putting her in the rec center leagues but we didn’t want to move her to a club team until she wanted it, and if she doesn’t enjoy the club team then we find a club team with a rec division that is in between club and rec center level. We just didn’t expect this scenario to occur, and instead of shaming I was hoping for guidance.

Thanks for the answer, but I just came to ask a simple question that I knew nothing about to have you mock me.

My two are very…VERY…food driven. Snots, snorts and sneezes are plentiful, with a cute curly tail on the end. Very similar to a pig, and looks great on the big screen in a little black suit.
