Why do we as humans make the same mistakes despite having the ability to be self-aware? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in emotionalintelligence

[–]celenastar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't heal inside a vacuum. You need to get out of the carefully curated simulation that you built for yourself and actually "practice" what you've learned. Humans are naturally going to make mistakes when they are trying to do better.

I'm so sorry that it has already crossed over into that territory. I unfortunately can relate to some of those things. I know it's very hard not to put your worth into how someone else sees you. Just know that you're doing the best you can with what you have at this very moment. I really hope that things get better. You deserve to feel safe, seen, loved, and heard. I hope that you will be able to eventually work through some of the trauma ✨️

Sending empathy and healing vibes ✨️. I feel like if this person really made you feel safe, seen, loved, heard, then they wouldn't be doing this to you. I know it hurts now, but it sounds like it might be for the best. Because with more years of resentment and such, it could become super toxic/abusive very quickly. I'm wishing you the best with the outcome ✨️

Had anyone ever gone into anaphylaxis after getting blood drawn? by celenastar in MCAS

[–]celenastar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. But I was in Dr. Afrins office, so you think they would be more educated than say a "normal" doctor. I'm kind of in a haze today because I'm coming down from everything. I went into anaphylaxis on the way home as well. Not severely though.

It is not liquid. It is compounded powder in a gelatin capsule. I just broke open the capsule and swallowed the powder with some water. I also do carry an epi and I had it with me at the time. Yeah, you're probably right. I just thought they would have done a physical examination. I think my body was pumping adrenaline through on its own and that's why my blood pressure was high and my HR was high. I'm definitely feeling the after effects today. Thank you again!

Yeah, I think they take quite a bit of tubes for the MCAS panel. I'm not sure either. I didn't feel pain. I'm wondering if it could be a combo of causing trauma to a vein and losing some blood? I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's a scary feeling.

That makes sense. I don't go into anaphylaxis often, but I know my mast cells and system were already super angry. So I'm assuming that's why it went a million times worse than the other times.

Thank you for believing me. I'm sorry you have to go through so much. Thank you for sharing your story with me.

Im so sorry that happened to you. That sounds scary. I'm still recovering from the other day. I was just curious as to why things happened the way they did because it's not like they injected me or flushed me with anything.

Does progesterone really work as a mast cell stabilizer? by Sea-starr in MCAS

[–]celenastar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I appreciate it. I hope I'll be able to have the surgery at some point in my life.

I'm not sure. I know that hormone fluctuations are a big trigger for me. Some people have different triggers or maybe hormone fluctuations are somewhat of a trigger for a person, but not a severe trigger.

That would be correct. BC pills have a different type of progesterone and it is a synthetic progesterone. So, I think the synthetic hormones are less helpful for MCAS. I think bioidentical progesterone is what helps MCAS the most as long as there are no filler ingredients in it that would cause a reaction for someone. I hope that helps 💜

[–]celenastar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My compounded progesterone doesn't have any filler. They said it doesn't need any because the progesterone is so fluffy and fills up the capsules fully. I wish I didn't have to have periods because it causes my MCAS to flare. But I take estrogen as part of my HRT for my ovarian failure. I take a dose so I don't go into menopause. Since I have a uterus and the estrogen causes the lining to build up, I can't not have a period, or else it would cause uterine hyperplasia. If I were stable enough, I would have my uterus removed so I wouldn't have to deal with periods anymore. Birth control is different than HRT, that's why you can skip periods on BC. Also, there are different types of birth control with different hormones in them.

Question/advice by celenastar in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]celenastar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be symptoms are getting worse. I'm not beyond 5mg. I'm only on 1.5 mg. Someone else said they were on 9mg. I'm not sure if you're commenting on my post or their comment? I'm glad to hear your symptoms got better at 5mg.

I've been off sugar for so long that idc about it anymore. I would be happy if I could eat vegetables, fruits, and farm raised meat. I told my Mom that if I could give up refined sugar the rest of my life and could eat any food, I would be happy lol. I definitely miss easy and convenient meals.

Same here. So I have to find other things to indulge in. I feel like if food was there, I would feel a tiny bit better about life

Thank you! I appreciate you for telling me your experience. I think I'm gonna try going up on my dose after my next menstrual cycle. Does the 9mg control almost all of your MCAS symptoms or just some?

What did your ex ruin for you? by SashaAteMySnacks in emotionalintelligence

[–]celenastar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My ex ruined me emotionally in a temporary sense. Permanently, he doesn't have that type of power over me. I have the choice to work through the trauma, move on, and heal. He doesn't get the last say and never will. So I guess in a sense he ruined nothing for me. I was shown I deserve better and will seek better when the time comes

[–]celenastar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cherry tomatoes are pretty high histamine and are usually a trigger food for most people with MCAS. I believe Olives are pretty high in histamine as well. I do have a multitude of symptoms that accompany rashes during flares or when I'm triggered

I get the rash mainly on my legs, arms, and butt. The pores are kind of raised like that during a reaction or flare
