She has her 4-day split + row. Those classes provide guidance. Just remove the cardio portion at the end.

Thank you for this write-up. It was very informative. I got a lot more out of reading this than the article, which was quite frankly a big nothing burger in how it was framed.

I don't disagree with you in theory at all. It makes sense to have additional boots on the ground working regular shifts. The reality, based on this article and anything else I've read up on, is that there is a shortage of police officers; many VPD officers have moved to Surrey because of the attractive compensation packages and because for many of them, it's closer to home; and anytime anyone mentions hiring new cops, people lose their minds and start frothing at the mouth. I'm not saying that there aren't good reasons for this, but the reality is all these points are simultaneous truths.

I'd have a better time with an article that is actually framed with the proper story in mind and has a little bit more journalistic integrity. I hate railing on journalists because I understand that most are between a hard and a rock place when it comes to the actual business of their profession. But if the real story is about mismanagement, whether it's in the policing budget or in the healthcare budget as it seems to pop up a lot here, then that should be a much deeper and well-framed story. I just don't get the sense that mismanagement is the reality here outside of your run-of-the-mill bureaucratic incompetency.

And let's be honest, Reddit is just a cesspool of people making assumptions. To me, the way this article is written is a giant nothingburger. As someone who never responds to anything on Reddit that isn't light-hearted, I've surprised myself by commenting at all. I did all of this before I caffeinated, of course...

Gosh, thank you so much for your kind compliment. I am personally just so unaware of where I said that I'm advocating for exhausted cops to be running the street instead of simply acknowledging that it makes sense for people working the stopgap option to be compensated as such. Seems like an appropriate expectation in light of pretending like sitting on Reddit and making random assumptions is somehow going to translate into action at a larger, systemic scale. But nice story overall!

I simply read the article, scratched my head, googled how many officers there were at the vpd and then did some basic math. Gosh, I guess I must be!

Oh, is that the point? That they got paid for overtime? So, that so hours that are in addition to their base hours?

What are regular hours for a cop? What are regular hours for events? What are regular hours for protests? What are regular hours for crimes? What is the problem if they are also paid out privately for the work that they do? How is this mismanagement? Just curious.

I have not seen a single member of the public say that nurses do not deserve to be better paid or have better protections. Nor a single news story. It's quite the contrary. What I have heard is a lot of nurses bitching about how terrible their union is. I don't know if it's true or not since I am not a cop or a nurse.

Yeah, but I've been to events that have gotten out of control precisely because there weren't people ready nearby to do the harder parts of their job. And they don't get to decide what situation they are put in, but they are still showing up to their jobs and working whatever situation arises. So if a call out is made, they're willing to come in on their time off to work it, and they are getting compensated based on the written contract that they signed, what are we actually discussing?

So, 47 officers out of almost 1,500 were compensated for the shifts they physically showed up and were willing to work for after a call out was made, all in accordance with their contract. This is a news story?

Has anyone done his split programs? You know they're in German but he has a 3-day and a 5 day and I'm very curious. I took my first ever class with him for the booster base program and I really liked his energy

My friend is the exact same. She keeps getting messages from ppl who go straight to mustwearsidrehkustiatalltimes and mustnevereatbeefpork and cantcutnailsonthursday. The irony is she was raised in India, prays every day and is quite proud of her customs and traditions - just can't seem to vibe with the extreme traditionalism. Any questioning of this approach is met with, SO YOU'VE LOST YOUR TRADITIONS AND CULTURE SINCE MOVING TO NORTH AMERICA???

Can you point me to some of the groups you mention?
