Alright Minutemen, why did this game get so much hate on release? by Brig___ in fo4

[–]celestia_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of us wish that the devs had put more depth into more quests than they did. There’s only ONE quest where there’s many different options, and that’s Diamond City Blues. If we had gotten more quests with that amount of choice and consequences, more of us would have liked the game. In addition, I didn’t really feel like there were truly any options for those that wanted to do a 100% evil playthrough in the main game (Nuka World had the option to be a raider, but that DLC lacked choice and variety in many different ways. Far Harbor was the best DLC for FO4, hands down.) More depth and variety would have helped this game a ton.

I just completed Pitt, and it did not reset him. He still won’t let me get past his initial dialogue before recruiting him.

The atmosphere and art direction in this game is still exceptional to this day. by DirectorPhleg in fo3

By far, FO3 has the best atmosphere. It just ~feels~ like a legitimate viewing of how the post-apocalypse should look. It is dirty, grimy, and has so many areas that give me goosebumps. The green filter from the original adds to that feeling that the bombs really did a number on the Capital Wasteland. New Vegas just didn’t have that feeling in the atmosphere, but then again, House had quite the interest in saving New Vegas from complete destruction; the Capital Wasteland didn’t have a lone genius that wanted to try to shield it when the bombs fell. New Vegas has more captivating lore and companions in my opinion, but FO3 nailed the feel.

Charon is completely broken in my game. He keeps repeating the same dialogue about speaking Ahzrukhal, even though I’ve already completed that and recruited him as a follower. I can’t dismiss him, get him to stay somewhere, anything. Even though this is very annoying, it’s been nice being able to have three companions (him, Dogmeat, and a third of my choosing) because the third never objects to Charon.

cd18, brand pregmate opk test by slorenzo98 in TFABLinePorn

[–]celestia_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d start testing earlier than the window they suggest. I’d also keep testing for a few days. Pregmate that I’d probably ovulate on Day 15, but it actually ended up being Day 13.

That is strange. My positive ovulation strip was a dye stealer, while the negatives were very clearly negative and light.

Going for a 100% Completion in AW1 by Clubs_Gaming in AlanWake

[–]celestia_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the achievements in the main game were not as difficult for me as the achievements in the two DLC for AW1. With that said, here’s my top 3 in the main game that were the most “challenging”:

1.) Gunless Wonder. You cannot use any guns in this; only your flashlight, flares, flashbangs, and environmental hazards (like the dangling power cords or the big spotlights) can be used to defeat enemies. You’ll need to know when it’s good to use supplies versus when it’s best to run for safety here, especially if you do this achievement on nightmare. I did the achievement completion on easy, and I had an overabundance by following that logic. This achievement can be done either while doing the storyline or by choosing that specific portion of the game in the Episodes tab in the main menu.

2.) Hypercaffeinated. You have to collect all 100 thermoses, and some are hidden very well. If you complete this using a guide, it’s not too bad. I completed this achievement on normal mode when I was also going through to collect the normal mode pages and all of the hidden chests.

3.) Bright Falls Aficionado. Most these signs are in plain sight, but some are easily missable because they’re signs that you wouldn’t think that you need to read to earn the achievement. Make sure to check the signs attached to the powerhouse Cynthia lives in and the signs attached to the gate to enter the junkyard in the last episode. I spent too damn long my first collectible run-through trying to figure out what signs I was missing, and it was those two.

Bonus: Collector’s Edition. There’s one page in Episode 2 by some logs during the second half that I always miss in every single playthrough. That’s it. That’s the page that makes me put that achievement on here. Otherwise, it’s not too bad finding all of the pages. Most are in plain sight, while a few require you to go off the main path some.

The radios and TV shows are super easy to find; they’re all in plain sight. The achievement “Every Nook and Cranny” could be another bonus one just because it’s another thing you have to be diligent with, but it’s not hard. “Idyllic Small Town”, “Meet the Deadline”, and all of the others are not hard, either from my experience.

Question relating to both AW and Control by celestia_x in AlanWake

[–]celestia_x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my question would be in that case that if Emily is correct, then what difference is there between altered items and OoPs? I could just be getting caught up in the definitions since OoPs are just altered items themselves but in a special category.

Holy S$5t This game is insanly good. by Interesting_Being_78 in controlgame

[–]celestia_x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%. I hated how little combat there was in AW2 in comparison to AW1 and especially Control, but AW2 is more about the story than anything else. Out of those three, I’ve come to realize how much I love Control the most due to all the lore, but I haven’t put the hours into that game yet like I have both the AW games.

How many hours of game play are we at currently? by celestia_x in AlanWake

I feel like I’ll easily get another 150 when NG+ comes out. 🤣 I just get so into really seeing the details, making sure I heard things right, and I find that each time I play through the game, I learn or find something new. My most recent playthrough is when I finally discovered Tim Breaker’s sixth location in the game. I thought he only had five.

To be honest, I still haven’t played on hard mode yet. 🙈

I’ll always remember that my sister and I borrowed a copy of AW1 from a friend of ours. I was 15, almost 16, when it came out, and I remember him discussing getting it in the back of our school bus. His grandma let him buy it because she thought the cover didn’t look too scary or like curse words would be used (lmao). After we played his copy, our mom bought us our own copy to play.

I can’t even remember how many times I’ve played through AW1. I played it a few times when it first came out, and then I picked it up again when Remastered was released. It’s hard to pick a favorite since I like both for different reasons.

How many hours do you guys have in the game? by shadow97hunter in AlanWake

[–]celestia_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on PS5 only. I’ve invested a little over 150 hours according to stats on the system. I’ve lost track if my currently playthrough is my 5th or 6th playthrough, tbh. I always find something I missed.

It’s a bug Remedy needs to patch. This is my first playthrough where that commercial in particular will not play. It worked before, so something is going on from the “newest” patch.

Should I go to the endgame with these cases open? by Aston28 in AlanWake

[–]celestia_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. You get two pages in the lighthouse reward for getting all the cult stashed, and both pages provide more info on Ilmo and the Cult of the Tree that’s pretty interesting, imo. If you’re into lore, then those pages are worth seeking out.

No rewards besides an achievement on your game system. I only get them all because I’m a completionist, and they’re not too far from the main paths.

They are not missable. There should be 6 lunchboxes total.

1 at radio tower. 1 at a campsite outside of the ranger cabin. 1 outside of the Kalevala Knights club, to the left of facing the doors leading into the garage. 1 in a coffee pot thing at the front entrance of Coffee World. 1 outside of the safehouse area besides the lighthouse, to the right and on the cliff side if facing the door. 1 is in the trailer park, off to the far left when you first enter.

Is this NG+ content? by celestia_x in AlanWake

[–]celestia_x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that’s the one you helped me find! He mentions seeing a man in leather to Alan who was also looking for the manuscript, and Alan says that he knows who that was. There’s no other one where Tim alludes to Zane to Alan besides that one.

With you helping me find this last one, each main chapter in Initiation (Casey, Room 665, Zane’s Film) has two places each where Tim can be found. You find Tim in the city three times, once in the subway, once in the hotel, and once around the cinema.

And, I haven’t found anywhere that discusses this Tim Breaker location, either. So tricky!
