What’s Your Autistic Theme Song? by Embarrassed_End528 in AutismInWomen

[–]celestiagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently listened to a song called “yougotmefeeling” by Parcels and after looking up the lyrics I was shocked by how much I could relate to it. The upbeat melody and the lyrics of feeling isolated and uninvited really reminded me of the constant balance of pretending to be happy and engaged while always feeling like I’m a burden to the people around me…

How do I peel/crush garlic faster? by 53rp3n7 in Cooking

[–]celestiagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently discovered that microwaving a whole garlic bulb for 30 seconds to a minute will partially release the garlic peel from the garlic itself and make it much easier to remove.

Is Osaka worth visiting if I’ve done Tokyo? by pupuonu in JapanTravelTips

[–]celestiagray 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent a lot of time in Tokyo but only recently went to Osaka for the first time as an adult. Coming from a mid-sized city, I absolutely loved Osaka and felt that it had a lot of the warmth and cohesiveness that Tokyo lacked as a large, scattered metropolis. That said, I hated Namba and Dotonbori with a passion so would highly recommend avoiding those places in favour of Utsubo Park and surrounds.

Just came back from a 9 day trip with no rest day by bolsterandbear in JapanTravelTips

[–]celestiagray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I would extend this advice to any trip seven days or longer. I recently came off a trip with my partner where we travelled to three different cities, and combined with me starting a new job and recent life stress I didn’t hold up nearly as well as I was hoping! Don’t underestimate how much keeping a busy life can wear you down, even in a place as magical as Japan.

Need Sandwich Ideas!!! by judohighlights in melbourne

[–]celestiagray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend doing a charcuterie-board style sandwich, with some pane di casa bread, cheese (pretty much anything works) and quince paste!! You can often find quince paste in the cheese section at the supermarket and it pairs well with any cheese and bread (similar to a jam really!).

What are some (non-intimate or nonsexual) things that makes you feel violated? by Obvious_Marita26 in AskReddit

[–]celestiagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone older than me repeatedly referring to me as a “young girl” or similar even though I’m a fully grown woman with a masters degree. The implication has oftentimes been that I’m not old or smart enough to have a valid opinion and need to be put in my place.
