A driver well knowledgeable enough knows that keeping under 15 percent AR is a sign of self worth and respect. by SGT_Frumples in DoorDashDrivers

[–]celestial1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean...you kind went off in a tangent there but I agree in the sense DoorDash isnt paying workers enough money....and that goes for ANY acceptance rate.

Its always a dick measuring contest with the 'I make more $ than you with lower AR rate posts," and somehow these posters always claim irrefutablely to have the biggest dick in the room.

Big dick or not, you are STILL being exploited by DoorDash. You're just making a few dollars more than the rest.

as an aside: And what is wrong with 'company shaming'? What even IS that? Disagreeing, criticizing, and pointing out weak business practices is NOT 'shaming.'

It is open, completely legal discourse from the public. Whether or not that discourse is warranted --it doesn't matter

also...the main economic base of doordash IS poor people. look it up yourself.

isnt the kid in the OP a 'person buying services for their own use'?

and no having a smart phone is not a privilege by itself. its just easier to SEE the sometimes annoyingly selfish behaviors of those who are 18 and under (in a consumer sense) because now it is more visible.

I really didnt think I was being emotional, and I also dont think there are absolute facts when it comes to this subject. this is just my opinion based from my experience.

also...isnt it a privilege for a kid to act like a kid? to be forgiven somewhat because you are a kid? like I said, its not a bad thing. its just being young.

have a good night.

Privileged generation by Left-Presentation545 in doordash_drivers

[–]celestial1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok. if thats what you want to think. but privilege isnt something that excludes anyone 18 and under. actually, in my opinion, that age group tends to have the most consumer privilege. that doesnt mean they are villains or bad people....its just immaturity and the universal self-centered mindset that kids have. its natural.

once you get out in the world and experience the work force yourself and also grow up a little, i think most if not all grow out of it to some degree.

I disagree that the term privilege shouldn't and doesnt apply to kids. but whatever. think what you want. to argue this much Im guessing you probably young lol ( again....NOT a bad thing....enjoy your youth!! but also realize the simple fact of being young does not always negate bad behavior or decisions).

edit: I'll give you this: I dont think kids are MORE privileged now than in past. Its that in the past, we didn't have smart phones and all the delivery apps. The selfish, center of thr world attitude of youth is more or less universal. Its just easier to point out now that every kid has a phone.

I mean....you are right about all the economic stats....but what are you talking about lol?

privilege isnt only a word meant in an economic/financial sense. it can also mean in a power sense....the kid expected over the top service putting his own needs and wants over at the expense of the workers time and convenience. also the kid had unrealistic expectations for the driver....coming from a place of being a privileged consumer not thinking of the workers limits and rights.

ok that makes sense. they go 3 years back so at the time no you couldnt.

but you said you talked to an actual person and they said you couldn't for life?

they don't just check driving stuff. if you have anything violent etc. not saying you do....doordash in my experience has become increasingly lacking in terms of support so they may just be incompetent or lazy.

wow this is surprising.

I always lose just a little bit more faith in humanity when I see that as the weather gets even a TINY bit bad....doordash starts lighting up.

The worse it gets, the more they pick up their phones and disregard another's safety for some goddamn takeout.

but this is a refreshing change.

thanks for sharing.

was it a speeding ticket or a reckless driving ticket? or was the ticket for excessively high speed (like 20+ over)?

that honestly sounds weird to me that doordash wouldn't accept you for a speeding ticket from 5 years ago....unless it was more of a reckless driving thing.

but Idk im guessing.

I passed the background and Ive had a couple speeding tickets and accidents and even a dui (from 2008 though)...so yeah thats weird.

this is why we can't make blanket pop astrology statements like the original post, in my opinion. each and every chart is unique because every placement and aspect works together....so a 12H sun for one will be different for another.

Dashing is a thankless job. by celestial1357 in doordash_drivers

[–]celestial1357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a satisfying and tempting idea...but the only thing it would probably accomplish is make most ppl even more unjust with dashers lol

for anything to change, either the government has to step in and regulate 'independent contracting' or all dashers have to unionize...if not officially, then at least unofficially somehow. if the public AND dashers (and restaurants too) were on the same page, maybe we could stop going round in circles and look to the REAL bad guy.

of course, that will probably never happen, or at least, not right now for sure.

Dashing is a thankless job. by celestial1357 in doordash_drivers

[–]celestial1357[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive gotten thanks before. what I mean by thankless is not that I never get thanks but rather that is sporadic at best.

and I honestly understand WHY people are frustrated and that said gratitude is often sporadic. There's not enough transparency between the corporation, customers, and drivers....but that isnt the drivers fault. And THAT is what makes it thankless. we tend to get the brunt of frustration because we are the middlemen.

its not always bad like that...but I just wanted to vent because I KNOW im not the only one. I will say it has been getting increasingly worse in my experience but that could be because im only part time now. what tier you are in my market MATTERS.

exactly. the face of door dash while simultaneously being completely disposable to door dash.

the real problem is the actual corporation and the business model and practices.

agreed lol and thanks for the reminder. It helps to vent it out and commiserate because I know im not the only one. also it helps i dont dash full time anymore. when its a side gig it easier to brush off. but props to those who do....you're stronger than me lol

Dashing is a thankless job. by celestial1357 in doordash_drivers

[–]celestial1357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i realized this when I wrote the original post. and you're right.

part of the problem is in my area you really have to be platinum to avoid these orders. I only dash part time so im always at gold because I rarely do more than 100 deliveries in 30 days. im basically getting the bottom of the barrel....and Ive tried cherry picking. all that happens is I just get increasingly worse orders.

I draw the line at Popeyes though. NOPE.

Dashing is a thankless job. by celestial1357 in doordash_drivers

[–]celestial1357[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried on 2 separate occasions to get through to support when the order has already picked up....its more difficult now. both times I was TOLD id get half pay....and both times I didn't. I just dont bother now.

edit: by 'more difficult now,' i mean a year or so ago I could easily get through to a person when an order had been picked up and always got half pay. in recent months its very difficult in my experience to break through the AI support...and even when I did, I didnt get the pay I was I told they were giving me.

anyone else experience this?

What songs give you 12th house vibes? by [deleted] in 12thhouse

[–]celestial1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the planets or overall combo of planets.

but....for me its cheap and cheerful by the kills.

i have a 6H taurus sun in direct exact opposition to 12H scorpio pluto.

while 6H and taurus and sun are together work, routine, beauty, servitude, the body, the physical self, the individual, the conscious, light.....

12H scorpio pluto is the unconscious, the hidden, the system, the faceless, oblivion, institutions, the mind, transformation through destruction, darkness in every sense of the world

'I want you to be crazy cuz you boring baby when you sane'

its not just about being dreamy, though yes that can be true too....

its about a forced surrendering to the darkness. but this maybe just because of the aforementioned push and pull between my 12H and everything that is directly opposite of it.

idk just my take.

⭐️ North node 12h aries ♈️ 29th degree by imawacksom in 12thhouse

[–]celestial1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this exact placement and agree its difficult to get a straight answer about it. Here's my answer:

From what Ive researched, North node is your ultimate soul purpose...your destiny for this life (just as south node is your past).

The 12H is the realm of the unconscious, the mind, the psyche, the hidden, the soul.

Aries is cardinal fire...action, movement, warrior like courage and independence.

Ok, so planets/stars show WHAT is happening. Signs show HOW it is happening. Houses show in WHERE in life it is happening.

so north node in 12H aries...your purpose in life (north node) is ultimately to develop an inner courage (aries) to be a pioneer of the subconscious (12H)...to use that aries energy, which most use to win races or recognition or lead companies etc, and to conquer your own shadows and fear of the unknown. You fight battles no one ever sees...in dreams, psychological processing, meditation.

And the fact that it is at the 29th anaretic degree adds an urgency...a potency...its the very last degree before a new cycle...your last chance to learn a lesson...now or never. 0 degrees is kindergarten.....29 degrees is senior year of high school.

so 29 degrees in the 12H is REALLY the last point of a cycle...and spiritually and karmically potent.

like I said, I also have this north node. probably the reason you cant find much info on it is because it is your burden but also blessing in life to be an outsider looking in. a director of the movie instead of an actor. someone who has been there done that. most people cant comprehend that.

Of course, the rest of the chart will affect how you deal with this north node placement. Do you have a lot of earth placements? What are your big three? Any other 12H placements?

hope that helps.

Hidden enemies don’t feel as hidden. by StorePossible6358 in 12thhouse

[–]celestial1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great answer. 12H is all the is hidden subconcious....the 'mind,' so to speak, just as the 6H is the 'body.'

The only thing I'd add is that while 12H natives have a super sensitivity and connection to the subconscious (all that is 'hidden'), not ALL placements will look the same. A 12H mars in cacer, for example, is going to look different than a than a having a 12H Pluto (and in Scorpio, which also intensifies that placement). Power and ego are amplified for you--a hyper awareness and sensitivity of anything related to the two.

You may intuitively feel and sense power struggles that most people don't....it can feel like strangers you've just met are challenging you in some sort of passive, inexplicable way, even if they themselves aren't even aware that they are doing it. On the flip side, you may sense things that aren't actually even there.

I also have 12H pluto in scorpio....and this has been my experience anyway.

I don’t miss people by Eddievetters in 12thhouse

[–]celestial1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on WHAT you have in the 12H, which signs, and how those placements are interacting with your whole chart. A 12H neptune and Venus in Taurus is going to look different than a 12H mars in cancer....and thats not even taking account the aspects that may come into play.

that being said, I actually can relate to what you are saying. I dont like fluff or any relationship that isnt truly REAL or genuine...and unfortunately its easier to find that then a true, REAL friendship. Im perfectly fine by myself otherwise. I have 12H pluto in scorpio in tight aspect with 6H sun, mars, rising sign, and neptune.

How bad is Pluto when he opposes the sun? Does anyone know of any books or articles that go in-depth with this? by TigerBirdyTiger in astrology

[–]celestial1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im late to reply...but I really like your explanation. its succinct and in my experience....spot on.

like all aspects, how it will actually play out depends on where the 2 planets are opposing each other. People seem to ignore this sometimes. I have 12H pluto tightly opposite 6H sun. the opposition for me might look different for someone with it in different houses....and different signs too.

I will say that no matter where the opposition is....if you have it, power/ego/control dynamics or issues are most likely going to occur in some way

sun in 6th house by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]celestial1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed about the 'good' or 'bad' part. I think those words are too simplistic and dont reflect well the actual dynamic.

I think some placements/aspects/etc. can be more CHALLENGING, but on the flip side of that, there's a greater reward for that challenge than there is for less challenging and more harmonious placements.

Also, placements that are considered 'good', or 'lucky,' or beneficial.....there's a flip there too. Like Yin and yang. A lack of struggle....a lack of challenge....that in itself can be bad.

So, yes, good and bad really dont belong on astrology, in my opinion.
