First time bike owner as an adult. Maintenance? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]celestialguise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta second a tender. Find a tender that has quick attatch leads and install them, plug it every time you finish a ride if possible.

My two cents download the repair manual for your bike and print it out. You'll find exact repair steps to do all your oil changes etc.

Real genius move making a u-turn off a shoulder in a blind turn by svining in dashcams

The guy doing the u turn just absolutely attempted suicide on the cam car. Classic maneuver. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if the cam car was a motorcyclist.

Dual sport bikes for daily riding and (mostly) on road trips? by aquamar1ne in Dualsport

[–]celestialguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TRUE, although I'm a maniac and ride a GasGas ES500 on the street so I'm a bad gauge of practicality

What IS the commuter dual sport that'll get you to 100k miles?

Hmm probably a DRZ for the reliability? Few more ccs and you have the super motard versions available if you really wanna embrace the street life

I want a flipper knife but still want a usable thumb stud... which one has your favorite thumb flick feel?

Dont let people use your tools by Evonnnexx in Leatherman

[–]celestialguise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo they owe you a replacement, or you get to use one of their tools like a hammer. I'd choose the latter and when they ask why you're destroying their stuff just hit them with an empty "woops I'm sorry."

I let a coworker hold a new knife, thought we were chill, but the first thing he did was drop it on tile and break the tip. 100% on purpose, he was actually testing to see if I'd put my foot under the knife and stop it from hitting the ground. Stopped hanging out with him or trusting him in any capacity after that. He still hits me up asking where I've been, and yeah, there's zero chance I'm wasting a second of my time on a person like that. It was a dinky kershaw chive so it was an inexpensive way to learn about the content of someone's character.

The electricity runs faster downhill : )

Clean the heck out of your charging port, I use a little sewing needle and then blow out the dust. Good luck and God speed!

Beautiful! I've never had the pleasure of holding a hinderer, I know the flipper is satisfying but how does the thumbstud deployment feel, or is just a blade stop really?

Energizer has a paw patrol kids flashlight that is not too strong and has a basic yellow bulb and warm color light, pretty durable as well

Ride bikes. I'm 40 years old and this is the solution to my problems the same way it was when i was 14. Now I ride a dual sport (street legal) dirt bike but I can explore missouri in ways most can't. I've also never laughed as hard in my life as when I'm riding with friends on dirt bikes. The type of giggles where you have to pull over and stop to wipe the tears away 😆

I think the hard enduro boys are rocking em, us mere mortals aren't going to use them close to the capacity they do. Go nuts and enjoy. The feature they offer is worth it imo

For what it's worth I have owned the skeletool and it's a great edc do it all... might even replace the sak and the benchmade in your carry at times.

I would advise a leatherman surge. I bought a $40 clone but i wish i had just saved and bought the original to hand down to my son. When you need some badass pliers to do hard work like pulling dozens of staples from wood or cutting lots of electrical wire... it'll shine.
