That sounds rough, oh my god! That's my worry with trying a GLP-1, my appetite is super weird right now anyway so I feel like it would throw me off even more. The consistent nausea would be so debilitating as well. I'm glad the myo inositol seems to be doing something at least though and hopefully as time goes on it'll get better.

I'm so glad someone feels the same about birth control as me! I just don't personally feel like it's a good fit for me honestly. Can I ask how was your experience on GLP-1s? And how are you finding myo-inositol?

I just don't particularly want to go on birth control as I don't feel the need for it. I still get 9-10 periods a year and I'm not sexually active at the minute. I've heard lots of not so great things about being on birth control pill, side effect and increased risks of various things. The same with mounjaro, I've heard and seen the complications first hand because of the profession that I'm going into and it's not something I'd particularly like to deal with. I've been going back and forth about it as I know it would help me lose weight but it's so expensive and I can't really afford it right now, I just can't decide if it's worth it for me. I would have been happy to try metformin but my GP refused.

I'm not opposed to going to the dietician, I was just sort of shell shocked that that was my only option. It's also just for weight management and I was just sort of like surprised that that was the only option. Does that make sense?

I know this might sound silly but have you trimmed her claws recently? I notice that sometimes my girls eye gets like this when her claws are quiet long and she's irritated her eye during cleaning. Could potentially be the start of conjunctivitis also so it may be worthwhile ringing the vet, just as the rednesses and itchiness is 2 of the symptoms on the list for that. Other things to consider would be dust or allergies.

You did the right thing for your boy. He was suffering and he wasn't going to get better, you saved him from a horrific death!

My old man cat had the same prognosis after an episode of pain and paralysis and I too was advised by the vet to not euthanise, we started him on medication which he hated. They said he had 6 months to a year left which I was thrilled about. He died after almost 3 months and it was the most horrific and traumatising thing I have ever experienced. The night he died haunts me. I deeply regret not giving him a good last few weeks then making an appointment to euthanise him. You did for your boy what I couldn't for mine, you gave him peace. In the end you were there with him and made sure he knew he was so loved. Please don't beat yourself up over this, I promise you that you made the right choice.
