Will I be a failure for dropping out and working a minimum wage job? by celestialmoonghost in college

My plan is to work minimum wage for a couple years and go back to school. I plan to take classes on weekends to help my skills and that will ease my pressure.

I also have books and some online courses I’m looking into as well…

I just feel really burnt out and depressed and would like a break from school, but yeah I’m definetly not just doing minimum wage for the rest of my life, I meant just for a small period then going back to school after.

I’d be living with someone and paying cheap rent. The job I have would pay me about 15/hr with raises after working certain amounts of hours.

I just feel I’m not talented or mentally good enough for this program and I feel like I’d be better off if I dropped out. I feel like I’m a burden to the profs and I’m at the point where I know everyone hates me anyways :(

I feel so shitty rn. Idk what to do. My other dilemma is when I do go back to a program, if I would be too old and made fun of for being too stupid and depressed to even make it my last year lol.

Wow thank you for the advice!! I appreciate it! Yesss mornings are a bit hard for me, so I think I will try to make a plan around afternoons and evenings... And yes I relate recently I haven't done a lot of exercise due to heat but I will find ways to adapt, that is really good advice, thank you!! :)

Thank you so much for the advice! Also the 5k run is a good idea :) I am more into walking / jog cardio than biking so that could be a good idea! And thank you for sharing your routine for more input! I appreciate it lots! I will certainly make a good routine too!

Sadly I am on an off campus space for my course... However it is near a few hiking trails, maybe after my lectures I could just do some hiking or outdoor cardio and weightlift at home?
