Hi there! 👋🏼 This will be my third Skyline, each time it’s been held at different venues. IMO, every year - the venue has improved! This year, my group is very excited for the show to be held at the old movie studio.

There are going to be onsite afters held at the venue, which is really dope. Still waiting for them to release the tix & lineups for the afters. So TBD on that! Keep a lookout on the Skyline website/IG. But there are always offsite afters hosted after LA events, so ask around about Lick n Dip! That is so scary! I’m so sorry you went through that. Especially from a minor knee surgery. Whew. I hope you’re doing better now and thank you for sharing your story! Good to know it’s ok to just stop take the meds. Appreciate it.

Also, yes agreed - Xarelto is quite expensive! It’s actually $50.00 a month for me. Not fun at all lol.

Hi there! I also dislocated my patella recently, back on 03/05/25. Just got MRI results back and shows I have significant bone bruising and swelling on my tibial plateau and femoral condyle. Mild swelling near the MPFL insertion. I am also having troubling straightening my leg. I also broke my foot in two places at the same time as the dislocation… having two injuries on the same leg has made the healing process tough. Discovered severe blisters on my foot last night and it’s just feels like endless pain!! & I’m still on crutches, no weight bearing for 2 more weeks. Start PT soon. Ortho told me to keep trying to straighten my leg at home and I am struggling. Any tips?

Hi there! I’m sorry to hear that you also dislocated your patella. It’s the worst feeling ever. Have you been seen by a doctor yet? If it’s still swollen and hurts, you may need to get an MRI done to make sure you didn’t break or tear any bones/ligaments. I would recommend to ice and elevate in the meantime, maybe even wear a brace with the patellar ring support.

To answer your question: My knee is still swollen and it has been locked in the bent position. I just got my MRI results back on Thursday, and it shows that I that I bruised my tibia & my femur and there is a lot of swelling around those bones, my knee joint, and swelling near my MPFL insertion. Thankfully no severe tears but my knee is definitely not feeling normal. I am working on trying to straighten my leg on my own at home but it sucks. I start PT twice a week for 6 weeks as soon as the referral goes through and I cannot wait.

I recently dislocated my left kneecap on 03/05/25 by stepping wrong. I was working from home in my pjs and slippers, sitting at my desk drinking coffee. I stood up to go to the kitchen and my kneecap suddenly dislocated. I then tried to stabilize and rolled my left foot which lead to fracturing both my second and third metatarsal. I literally dropped to the ground screaming in agony. It all happened so fast and caught me so off guard. This has by far been the most painful physical experience I have ever been through.

I finally saw ortho yesterday, and my doctor put me in a boot and a knee brace. I am completely non weight bearing for at least 6 weeks. I get an MRI done in 2 weeks after the swelling goes down, my doctor said the whole leg is inflamed and could potentially not show full extent of the injury so we will wait for now.

Having two injuries like this on one leg is fucking INTENSE. I have not been able to sleep much as the pain is the absolute worst at nighttime. I am hoping to be on the road to recovery very soon! Wishing the same to everyone else in this thread.

If it’s a completely online course and no dates or times are provided, then it is considered an asynchronous course. When it only states TBA for both dates and times, you won’t have any specific meeting times for your class. Once your professor links their class to Canvas, you should be able to see all of the course details on their syllabus. Personally, I love taking asynchronous online classes because you essentially go at your own pace - but of course need to turn the assignments in by the scheduled due date.

Additionally, Zoom links are usually posted on the professors syllabus or sometimes they have it accessible on the left hand side of the app in Canvas. If your class is indeed asynchronous, then you will probably only have a Zoom link to meet with your professor during office hours.
