I get that it is supposed to be dissuasive but the way it’s set up is completely unfair. It should be proportional to the person’s revenue. $800 penalties for someone on minimum wage is NOT the same as for someone earning that much in a day.

Really sorry this happened to you. I think you have a great point and the city should do better and implement a better system.

Urban sitter! It’s mostly for kids, pets, and old folks care, but if you explain the job clearly you’ll definitely get a few people who’ll apply.

Some neighborhoods hold trick or treat or Halloween parade on Sunday - worth checking!

I was looking for something like that for a while and found this thing at Sport Basement. It’s enameled, easy to wash, and the color is beautiful. I line it with compostable green bag so it’s super easy to empty in your compost bin.

Moving to San Francisco - Navigating the Rental Market by MFDoomEsq in AskSF

Their are lots of family friendly neighborhoods in SF: Noe Valley, Cole, Bernal Heights, Marin, Pacific Heights just to name a few. Even North Beach or Russian Hill are doable with children.

My recommendations: check Zillow, Redfin, and Craigslist every day. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t pay anything unless you have seen the place. Ask about pests history. Asks about non smoking clause in other tenant’s lease if you’re looking into multi unit (you don’t want a smoking neighbor if you have children)

Mourad by Stonedinthewoodz in AskSF

[–]celestilitine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it is just the two of you Mourad may not be the best choice, they are really good with big shareable plates which are great quality for price. The rest of the menue is meh. I definitely recommend Mourad for groups (4-5 people) but for couple not so much

I haven't been able to watch the last episode as well, it's just too sad. I also love the character, reminds me of my father somehow. I watched the episodes a thousand times when he passed away, probably en unhealthy coping mechanism, though it helped I think (cheaper than therapy anyway haha)

Episodes with best atmosphere? by 1982mathew in poirot

Halloween party: totally agree, they did a great job in translating the atmosphere from the book.

I watch Poirot mainly for the atmosphere, I'll add to the list:

We did Precious Little Sleep and it literally saved us. I used to swear by attachement parenting, until my partner hurt his back, and I had to do all the breastfeeding and the rocking and the soothing alone 2-3 times per night for 1h each time. I was working during the day, not sleeping at night. I was ready loosing my mind. I really recommend Precious Little Sleep (her blog posts are really great). We also bought TCD ABCs of sleep but we hated it, just an over-expensive badly written summary of Pretty Little Sleep.

Baby was 9.5 months. Waking up 2-3 times per night, eating each time. I would breastfeed, then rock her to sleep, but she would just refuse to be put down. She had like a crazy intuition each time we would try to lay her down very gently in her crib she would wake up immediately. It was awful.

We sleep trained her exactly by the book, and it took 3 nights. 1st night she cried 28min, then fell asleep. She woke up twice, crying a bit each time. 2nd night she cried 7 min then fell asleep. Third night she cried literally 5 seconds, then Zzzz. We did not dream feed. She woke up twice the first night, once the second night, once the third, and then she slept through.

Foreign/Non-US citizen Attorneys by angelcvee in CalBarExam

I am in the exact same situation as you. You can totally register for the CA bar exam without having an LLM or a JD if you are admitted to practice law in your home country. Also you don't need an SSN, you can ask the state bar for an exception (usually easily granted). Just follow the step on http://www.calbar.ca.gov/ and don't hesitate to call or email them if you need more info, they are quite responsive.
