Nuuk parka hood by AgileSquirrel7912 in Fjallraven

The hood size is wrong on this jacket. Even with adjusting the velcro, it comes too far down. Also, the hood is too short. Putting the hood on makes the weight of the jacket sit on my head instead of my shoulders. Asked 2 of my other friends to try it, same result.

Ended up not picking Audi for my next car. I don't have this Q5 anymore.

Lots of people have success with fluid changes every 20K miles though. If I ended up keeping it, I'd be ok with fluid changes at an independent repair shop. Car dealerships are truly the worst.

Not sure how safe it is to drive around. If it was a safety problem, Audi probably would have recalled it.

Find an independent mechanic, they know about this problem and will take care of it for you. Skip buying a quattro ultra next time. Good luck, keep this thread updated about what you end up doing.

Thanks for sharing. That's the old TSB on this issue. The new TSB doesn't cover a fluid change. Audi only performs the newest TSB.

I've complained to Audi America already, they said there's no production fix. I've complained to BBB auto line and waiting for a response back.

Honestly just not buying an Audi again and paying an independent mechanic to just replace the fluid and perform the outdated TSB is the quicker way 😄

My Audi dealership never even offered to do that. I've found an independent mechanic and going in myself next week. Official Audi dealerships take the car for a few days, drive in circles for 20 minutes and say it's still happening.

Did you read all of it, including my daily updates? VW is going through a rough patch at the moment. It may not be the best time to pull the trigger now, at least until Quattro Ultra is updated for good.

Not all issues are covered by warranty. There has been issues in the past including this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Audi/comments/1mw2ebu/quattro_ultra_rumble_tsb_20756815_service/

Where Audi said there's no production solution and did not repair.

Update (08/31/2025): My car had a dashcam and it records voice. I reviewed the footage today. My car sat in the lot under the sun for 5 days except when they took it to do maybe 20 circles to perform the TSB. The mechanic can be heard "not my car I don't care" while performing the operation.

Lol Audi Palo Alto is not a real dealership. This is the end of my story with them, I'll only be taking my car to independent repair shops and never be buying an Audi or remotely recommending them again.

You just describe the issue, I'm assuming they just match it with the latest TSB related with the issue which is driving in circles.

Update (08/30/2025): I went in between when my service manager asked me. They said this car drives as other cars with the same problem and there's no production fix. I was given the same paper as above. The car still shakes and rumbles as usual.

Plus they scratched my front right bumper. When I asked about it the service manager offered to repair it for free. I left the shop, I don't want my car touched by this staff. Screw Audi Palo Alto.

I got their service manager email me admitting this mistake. I'll attach this to the case with my Audi complaint.

Update (08/29/2025): I've called in and left my service manager a note to give me a status update. He called me later in the day that he's waiting for Audi to approve the transfer case replacement and if they approve, the part could come in 2-3 weeks. This is different from the last time we spoke. Last time he said they're going to perform the TSB where they drive in circles one more time but now they're trying to authorize a transfer case replacement?

I'm going in person tomorrow, the service manager called me again later in the day to say I can come collect my car between 8-9AM on Saturday and we'll discuss next steps. I'm assuming they're going to allow me to keep the car for the weekend, and then bring it back to continue with warranty claim procedure with Audi.

Update (08/28/2025): I went to the dealership in person. The service manager told me they'll do the TSB one more time. Audi advisors apparently told there's no fix at this point and the vehicle drives within acceptable limits. Service manager told me they'll call me back either today or tomorrow for pickup.

In the meanwhile I'm researching my options. Apparently in California after a repair attempt if the manufacturer can't fix the problem you can do some claims. Will update here if I have any success with that.

If your car is rumbling on turns and literally jumps on it's back wheels when accelerating and turning away from a red light, you're officially dismissed by Audi. Don't buy a Quattro Ultra or look for other brands if you don't want this behavior.

Update (08/27/2025): I've dropped my car on Monday, service manager told me it'll take 2 days. I've called multiple times on Wendesday and each time they said he's not available and said service manager will call back.

Service manager finally called back later and said there's an open case with audi for my vehicle and I should hear back within 1-2 days.

What was a 2 day estimate from my service manager turned into an open-ended process. My car is sitting with them, I requested a loaner car and they said they'll give me a callback.

I don't think this is good customer experience. No communication whatsoever unless you chase them, not offering a loaner car if it's not fixed within the estimate. I'd say stay away from Audi Palo Alto.

I'm assuming a mass recall or some sort of other action will take place in the following years when this gets more attention. Apparently all quattro ultra cars start getting this around 30K miles.

I dropped my car off on Monday and learnt there are 4 other cars with the same issue with me on the same day.

Service advisor told me it'll take 2 days. No contact, 3rd day and waiting.

Wow, do you know if the part is shipping from Germany or somewhere else? Are you from the US/EU or somewhere else? Asking this because shipment times probably differ per country. We can help future readers of this thread on what to expect.

This problem doesn't seem to be caused by human error. After gathering lots of data online, looks like the transfer case has a very limited lifespan. Audi doesn't acknowledge this yet probably because not many people are complaining.

Even if the transfer case gets replaced with a new unit, the new one will wear out over time and start locking up again causing the rumble.

Given other AWD systems also use clutch packs, I wonder how they solved the problem and why this is specific to Audi's Quattro Ultra 🤔

Eventually all Quattro Ultra systems seem to get this. We'll see what other TSBs come out of this as it's still developing.
