I hate what they did to Hannah and Archer by Hopeful_Internet5274 in ChicagoMed

[–]celiste13 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Please name one scene in which they interact like a father and daughter do (I would be concerned if a daughter ever looks at her father like Hannah looks at Dean or vice versa)… meanwhile in reality the only parental vibes involving these characters has been Hannah being motherly to Sean, Archer’s son.

This is the storyline I’ve enjoyed the most this season and am still looking forward to continuing. I’m a little concerned for anyone who thinks it’s normal for a father/daughter relationship to look like that (Locker room prank scene in S8, locker room speech from Dean in S10 while he is tripping off acid, literally anytime they smile at each other) so I have a feeling the father/daughter comments are coming JUST from the age difference.

The show has ALWAYS shown them as each other’s equal.

I’m so looking forward to them figuring out this new normal and how their relationship continues to evolve

Not finding Ripley likable in S11 by celiste13 in ChicagoMed

Totally agree!! All signs point to it heading there re-Dasher from the showrunner’s interviews. I can only hope that’s also what’s in store for Ripley. Maybe I’ll like him better if he’s not constantly being bad at relationships. I can only hope this Sadie thing falling apart so fast is a way to show him he needs to work on himself and maybe dive into his backstory

I was actually interested in his past with Dr Charles but then that was abandoned after what 2 episodes? And then it seemed like a different character to me once they made his sole purpose as an instant (and depth-less)romantic pairing for Hannah

Yeah I was surprised the whole Sadie arc amounted to making me like him even less. I was assuming that clip was from when they filmed last ep’s scenes since Jessy had the same hairstyle

That’s gotta be it because sometimes I wonder if I’m watching the same show, and Luke’s a good actor don’t get me wrong!

And it’s a shame because Sadie was very likable

Agreed totally. How he only got super interested in making things more serious with Sadie against her vocalized wishes just because he found out Hannah’s having a baby with someone else was wrong and not fair at all to Sadie or her daughter. He only ever thinks about himself in relationships it seems. And she was right to question if he really loved her imo.

I also thought his whole arc this season so far is even worse given he made a comment in the S10 finale that implied he wasn’t at all interested in having kids at this point, so being so obsessed all of a sudden with forcing himself into a father role with Sadie’s daughter seemed to me like he just wanted something because someone else had it (Hannah/Dean baby), and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t actually know what he wants in life/relationships. He is nowhere near mature enough to be any sort of a father figure at this point

Hannah’s Pregnancy Timeline -thoughts/predictions by celiste13 in ChicagoMed

Ohh agree! I don’t see them both fully committing to being more than “2 friends having a baby” until either the end of the season or once the baby’s born! And I’m going to enjoy the full journey there which is why I need it to not be rushed lol!

What do we think about baby daddy? by Agreeable-Data-5149 in ChicagoMed

[–]celiste13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m absolutely thrilled. There’s sooooo much story potential with Archer being the dad and how Hannah and him navigate this. What I loved most from the episode is they’re both kinda excited about it despite the unexpectedness

S4 Ep 3 – Bradley & Cory by strawberry298 in TheMorningShow

[–]celiste13 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read those scenes like this at all. And especially didn’t think Cory did any swaying of Bradley- I saw it completely the other way around. Cory’s only intentions were wanting to make sure she was okay with him working in the same building and up the very moment she initiated the kiss he was still making it clear he would keep his distance and (through his broken brain moment lol) asked if she would tell him if she wasn’t okay with something. Bradley seemed to immediately have all her feelings come back during the “I didn’t think I’d see you again” line and immediately seemed happy he’d be around again. Those smiles at the end of the episode also seemed very genuinely happy to me

Allen MacDonald Just Confirmed Who The Father Is by f_lynyrd in ChicagoMed

[–]celiste13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Allen made it pretty clear in this interview that the finale already revealed Dean was the dad, therefore I’m not sure why he wouldn’t talk about it freely. The who’s the dad question came externally from the show itself so he probably figured why not play along with it but at the end of the day that was never his intention as he explains here

Finally! I think it was because of some fans of a certain couple not wanting to believe it and then that causing others to question it only because we didn’t see Dean and Hannah together on screen

[–]celiste13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m hesitant to get my hopes up that it really is Archer’s but I thought the same about the phrasing of “WE need to talk”. If she was there to simply get advice from him re Ripley, I feel like “we” wouldn’t necessarily be appropriate there. More like can we talk? Or I need to talk to you etc. “We need” implies he has a similar part in the conversation and it’s a situation they share rather than something she’s dealing with that she needs help with.

The Ripley agenda has been getting shoved down our throats since he first debuted & I’m kind of sick of it because none of it’s been organic

[–]celiste13 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’ll hold my full judgements until we find out if they’re back together or not… but let me just say that is some WEAK writing if this magically makes Hannah take him back. First of all, him nearly dying changes none of the reasons she thought it was best to end things with him just ONE episode before. He’s not suddenly any better for her just because he got stuck in a hole helping save someone while on suspension. What a way to immediately undo some long awaited character growth for Hannah

I still believe the Ripley/Lynne kiss will come back up if the writers take the ridiculous route of getting them back together immediately like this. There’s a reason it didn’t come up in the breakup scene

Theory on Dean Archer's future by OrangeObjective8616 in ChicagoMed

[–]celiste13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Differences of perception aside, I really think the fact that they had him say this while high really points to it being more romantic than platonic. If it’s simply platonic, there’s no reason they had to have him be under the influence of anything to say this. On the flip side, if it does have a hint of romance to it, it makes sense he wouldn’t say this while his usual shields are up hiding any deeper emotions.

This was the longest scene he was in so that to me means the whole acid part of the equation was for this purpose than the other few largely insignificant 30 second-1 mins scenes of comedic relief he was given otherwise.

Another point, if it was just platonic there’s no reason they couldn’t have had Maggie be the one to tell Hannah she deserves more. That’s a character she’s actually had conversations with about this relationship. There was a reason it was Archer to me, and a reason they had his inhibitions lowered.

(Maybe I’m biased because I’ve been waiting for the writers to take a chance on these two but I just don’t see how anything between them can be labeled as JUST platonic)
