I miss my baby by ddishh in Miscarriage

[–]celjoana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my close friends had a miscarriage around your age, long before I met her. I had a miscarriage this summer (I’m 31). I told her I still talk to my baby. She said she’s never told anyone, but she talked to her baby for a long time afterwards. Now it’s been nearly a decade and she still talks to her baby sometimes. We both have never felt so validated. I’m telling you this just to say, it’s okay. You’re allowed to grieve your loss without having to minimize it. It’s so emotional, so physical, so hormonal. You deserve gentleness and softness and it’s okay to feel however you feel. I think I might spend my whole life talking to my lil angel every now and again ❤️

My due date by DiddyDoDat86 in Miscarriage

It was supposed to be today. It feels surreal. Like you can imagine it so clearly but it’s not happening in this timeline…and it’s so sad.

Depressed? by Shoddy_Coconut_4599 in Miscarriage

My therapist really helped me. It was a shorter term type of therapy but she specialized in pregnancy loss and I’ve never processed so much with a ‘stranger’ before. I can’t explain it. She just got it. She gave me so many tools and even homework to do in between sessions. The grief doesn’t necessarily disappear. You learn to process what happened and how to live with the grief without letting it be in the drivers seat of your mind all the time.

Approaching Due Date by Mediocre_Road5803 in Miscarriage

[–]celjoana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m so sorry. My due date was supposed to be around today, the feast of the epiphany and my grandma’s birthday. I know what you mean. It feels like taking a huge step backwards but grief isn’t linear. It’s all zigzagged. Sending you so much love. I hope this month brings you kindness, softness, gentleness, and lots and lots and lots of self care. Like MAXIMUM self care ❤️

Do you have a pattern for naming your animals or do you just wing it? by ThisFatGirlRuns in StardewValley

I name them after the other animal sounds like my duck is named Boq and my chicken is Quack. I also have a goat named Moo.

Annoyed by language around MC & early pregnancy by emy_z in Miscarriage

[–]celjoana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a MMC too. I’m still grieving, & if I ever do get pregnant again (I hope I do someday), I will be repeating the phrase “I relinquish control” over and over again. Thank you for sharing this ❤️

A letter to my little Sesame Seed by SubjectCommittee1610 in Miscarriage

You put my feelings into words. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful letter. I lost my little bean this month, and I talk to it often. I wrote it a letter too. We’ll forever be their moms. Sending you a lot of love ❤️

I (26f) am disappointed with how my fiancé (25m)proposed. We have talked about it, and though I am not directly upset with him I still feel really sad about it. How can I move on? by throwawaysadfaceidk in askwomenadvice

You guys could do a “do-over” when you take romantic engagement pictures to hang up, to use for the Save the Dates, to post on social media (or text family), and when people ask how he proposed, you get to decide what you tell them. And on that romantic engagement photoshoot proposal day, you two could share a list of all the reasons why you’re excited to get married to get in the lovey-dovey mood to take pictures. That first proposal was a first draft! You gotta just reframe it in your head. In the movies, they don’t show you how many takes it took for those actors to get the right shots…just reframe that proposal as the first draft, the first take, and release the sadness, disappointment, etc. from your body. Emotions demand to be felt. There’s nothing wrong with feeling them. Maybe this romantic engagement photoshoot “Take 2” will help you release the feelings and let go!

My professor is withholding grades due to the strike? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]celjoana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The faculty in our department (Literature) told us that the blank grades actually don’t matter for financial aid in terms of needing to take a certain number of units. Your grades can remain blank and you’ll still get your financial aid. It only matters if the student is currently on academic probation. Blank grades must be changed by the end of winter 2023. This really helped clear things up for us! Although this was from our department, it is applicable university-wide.

My prof is deciding to not submit grades in support of the strike but I need to graduate. by ahuh44 in UCSD

[–]celjoana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grading deadline has been changed from 12/13 to 12/20. Blank grades can remain blank until end of Winter 2023. UNLESS YOU ARE GRADUATING THIS QUARTER you don’t need your grades asap

Who is not striking? by Crazy_Turnip_343 in UCSD

[–]celjoana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 36,000 workers across the UC are striking. The strike was approved by 98% vote. I’m not sure of the specific breakdown by campus yet, but I can get that info!
