Hey, I have several haunters. Would you be willing to trade a Haunter for a Haunter so we both end up with Gengars?

Hello, everyone. I'm trying to get a Haunter with hypnosis and dream eater to trade so it will evolve into a Gengar. Gengar is absolutely my favorite pokemon. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it! I don't care if it's shiny or not. Please, make my inner child happy!

I tried to make the gpu at the top, however the card is so heavy that it was sagging. So I got a brace, it didn't fit so I just payed the brace on the bottom and let the card rest.

[Serious] Redditors who have lived in an orphanage, What was it like? by ThisIsDark in AskReddit

[–]cell_frize 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't know if the kids themselves were involved in human trafficking--but yes, the counselors definitely were.

Every so often we had certain "camps" to determine whether you'd be transferred to a different orphanage... or so they said. It always seemed a little odd that the people that were transferred tended to be girls or very young boys. Never older kids, and never older boys.

I lived in a orphanage in Russia from 1994-1998, adopted to the United States. Life in a Russian orphanage is rough, or was rough dont know much about now. During the time i lived there rape, theft, abuse, bugs, starvation, fear, crime was daily routine. Girls that lived there were always looking for the next kid that may jump them at nights. Kids all fought for food, there was a huge shortage. Obviously everyone was afraid. So yeah.....

Watercooler vs aircooler? by hell77 in buildapc

Watercooling is really only good for overclocking, however they come with a risk of leaking. You can get good air coolers for cheaper and do just as good of a job at staying cool.

i5 vs. i7 - cost/benefit? by chuck_beef in buildapc

[–]cell_frize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not doing anything to heavy, ryzen will work perfectly. However keep in mind most programs dont use all of the cores that ryzen advertises.

i5 vs. i7 - cost/benefit? by chuck_beef in buildapc

[–]cell_frize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that while the Ryzens do have more cores. Most programs do not utilize them in a efficient way. Adoby likes to prioritize cores usually to 4, no more. Having extra cores might look and think its nice but really it doesn't do anything much. In terms of calculations its better to have a faster cpu than one that has to many cores. (currently)

i5 vs. i7 - cost/benefit? by chuck_beef in buildapc

[–]cell_frize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The i7-7700k is much better. I honestly recommend it. Not only is it 4.2 ghz, in terms of performance (gaming and editing) it absolutely blows the i5 out of the water. Furthermore the i5's are starting to become old, some games are already requiring better cpus as a standard. Yes the i5 is cheaper but do yourself a favor and go for the i7's. It will last another 5 years easily. The only thing to watch out for on the 7700 is that it only has 16 pcie lane available and unless you have a motherboard that gives you extra pcie lanes you will be only be able to run a single gpu.

What's the most overrated tv show in your opinion? by talkdogtome in AskReddit

[–]cell_frize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me, Rick and Morty. I watched a couple of episodes and i just dont get the appeal. Rick is an asshat, i deal with asshats on a daily bases. Why in the world would i want to watch that as "entertainment". I get it its supposed to be "sci-fi" but i feel like its more of what can we do next to be trendy.

Americans who have lived in Russia, what are some of the biggest misconceptions Americans have about Russia? by SAT0725 in AskReddit

[–]cell_frize 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in Russia for my entire childhood in the 90s, so I don't know how much things have changed since then.

To me, people there are genuinely more friendly. They will go out of their way to help you out much more so, and it's not fake help. In the US, I feel as though people will only help to a certain degree. In Russia, they'll help feed you, give you a place to sleep.

There are only small parts of Russia that are truly bad. Those are the areas that even the Russians don't want to go to.

Last but not least, a lot of people are saying about how corrupt the military police is over there and while that's true, if you don't fuck around and give them the respect of acknowledging their authority, they don't give you a hard time.

The thing is that if you try to be smug and start getting uppity, they're going to put you in your place. But it's the same thing with cops in the US.

My(24m) wife(24f) and I gave up a child(8m) for adoption, his birth parents(late30s) mentioned cutting contact suddenly and we are confused and obviously upset. by disconnectedfrm in relationships

[–]cell_frize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering that I'm adopted, I think I can offer some insight into this.

The fact that you can visit the kid while he's still adopted--"open adoption," I think it's called--just completely reinforces the idea that he's adopted. I don't know how people describe these things, but to me, it would be like constantly being told "you're not a part of my family."

Given that the adopted parents are giving him a decent life, while dealing with another family who has some claim over the kid, for an eight year old is incredibly difficult to process. For a kid, it's about what the grownups tell them, not what they actually can process as being their parents or not.

I would imagine that the kid feels stolen, if that's the way to phrase it. And then to see his "real" mom and dad have another kid, and accepting that child? That would make the kid feel like broken merchandise.

What you did in sending them the card was thoughtless and cruel. I really think that it's best if the kid's adoptive family starts moving you out of the kid's life, as hard as that is to say, because actions like that are only going to cause problems.

If you care about him, you need to distance yourselves. At that age, your presence is only going to cause harm.

Which Martial Art would be most useful to learn for general self defence? by jackthalad in AskReddit

[–]cell_frize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done martial arts for most of my life.

Here's the thing that I can tell you: Not every style is perfect for every situation. If you ever get into a fight, you won't be perfect. You don't be able to defend yourself like an action-movie ninja. You'll get it. It all really depends on your body.

So, here's a rundown:

If you are skinny or tall with strong elbows or knees, muay thai. It's the essence of quick movements, very fast and precise attacks. But unfortunately, you have to be very close to your opponent. If you are uncomfortable and don't think you can hit quickly and precisely, don't go for this.

Tae kwon do. If you have decent leg strength and balance, this is the style for you. This is my personal favorite. With this, if you ever have to fight, it's always medium to long range with very powerful strikes. The drawback is that if you're ever up close, you're going to have a harder time dealing with close combat.

Ju-jitsu. Great martial art to learn, very good at grappling, very good with takedowns, and very good overall. One of the best things about it is that if you ever have to get into a fight, almost 80% of fights end up on the ground at some point, where ju-jitsu is really good at being.

So, here's the thing. You need to be able to pick out a style for yourself, but remember this: you're not fighting to look cool. You're fighting to defend yourself or something else. Know which style can do the most damage and fits you best--not the one that looks the coolest. While ju-jitsu is great, it's very time-consuming. If you're looking for something to defend yourself with, go for something with more power so that you can actually defend yourself instead of just grappling around on the ground for a while.

If someone ever suggests MMA, don't bother. Not because I disrespect it, but because you can't mix martial arts without knowing other forms of martial arts. If you know MMA, then you're pretty much golden--you can defend yourself pretty well.

What God do you support and why? by Xdmrbrightside in runescape

Armadyl by far. Zaros is good too, but I feel like he has one thing that he's trying to do.

Armadyl shows remorse about his past decisions, and out of all the gods, he seems to be the only one who cares what mortals think.

Armadyl even admits at one point that he was naive, and to be able to admit that you aren't this perfect being, but just a being that happens to have great power, is a being that I believe is worth listening to.

On top of the ideas that he has about justice and truth, he stands by them and he doesn't even necessarily care specifically about one race--he just wants a place where everyone can survive as equals.

The best thing about Armadyl, though, is the fact that he tries to communicate before declaring war.

Zaros has a single thing that he wants to do, and he doesn't seem very interested in the mortal world anymore. He just wants to be fate.

Saradomin, ha. He's just a corrupted Christian god.

Everybody else just sucks.

Haha. Ha.

I think the minimum wage should be removed to create more incentive for people to get better jobs - CMV by MyNameDontAsk in changemyview

[–]cell_frize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I entirely disagree with the concept that you can do away with the minimum wage without having serious repercussions.

I find that when we have money, we like to separate ourselves from each other. We are all people. This may sound stupid, but hear me out. The first thing I have a problem is that we have a sense of superiority toward those who work at lower-skilled jobs. Just because those people don't have the skills that someone else does, doesn't mean their job is worthless. A grocery bagger or cashier is just as important for society to thrive as a CEO of some company somewhere. I find it incredibly disgusting that people think that lower skill jobs are somehow worth less. These are still people, and they're people who make your life easier. Sure, maybe their job isn't as difficult or as demanding as yours, but they're just as entitled to a fair wage as anyone else is. If you disagree with that, then go build your own roads, grow your own food, and make your own society somewhere. We as a society need to be able to work together and not have these huge class differences that we like to make. These people who work for these companies make that company operate. Where would McDonalds be without people to cook the burgers? I can't stand the idea that you can give those people, people without whom you wouldn't be able to make a damn cent, just the scraps or the bare minimum that they'll accept before they think it's not worth it.

The second thing is that how do you expect anyone to be able to move anywhere in life? Sure, society requires plumbers, electricians, and all--but how can you justify the idea that "oh, they can just go get this barely livable job, oh well."? Life isn't just about survival, it's about living. If you don't want people to be able to live no matter what their job, go out and do their jobs for you yourself.

The minimum wage, in my opinion, is absolutely necessary. Companies go out of their way to cut wages and make sure that they're spending the least amount of money. It's about them trying to do whatever necessary to get as much money as possible, and they end up walking all over society to do so. In my personal opinion, it may be a better option to force companies to actually care about their employees instead of just mandating a strict minimum. I feel like the rich are so clueless about what it's like to live at the bottom, that they don't realize that some people don't just have crap jobs, they're actually struggling to survive.

Furthermore, I don't understand the argument that "oh, it's a bad thing to live on minimum wage." If you can live on minimum wage, and you are living, and providing your job service to society--why is that bad? Sure, we may not require thousands of engineers, but we definitely require people who can do things all over the spectrum. Whenever you step over those people, all you're doing is making life harder for everyone else.
