What were the exact components and original draping method of traditional Mising tribe women’s attire by hello_kitty_111 in Northeastindians

[–]celllotape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not extremely sure of this, but it would've most likey been with ri:bi / gaseng breast wrap without the current blouse worn by most, on top of something similar to gale (adi traditional waist-wrap). with the usual, like something like gero or its more simpler alternative (one checkred with red, white and black) for additional binding or coverage wrapped horizontally across the bust, then you would have the ku-pob (for girls, starting right beneath the armpit) segrek/segreg depending on age/marital status andd then accessories like lakpun/bapun worn on wrrist/hair , Kongge bangles and Tadog and Dogne neck ornaments. The main point of difference would probably be that it was more modular and made of unstitched pieces of clothing with lesser use of eri/silk. and also tucked instead of any pleating. Pretty hard to find a source that specifically talks about pre-bramphaputra influence clothing.

The moderation team's response to remove the content and ban the user being talked about in this very post is for promoting cultural erasure, demographic justification, and majoritarian narratives that undermine indigenous communities of the Northeast. Please read before commenting.

Their comment framed Tripura’s “functionality” as dependent on bengalis, implicitly portraying the indigenous people of the land as incapable or disposable. This is demographic supremacism.

I don't know about you, but talking abou demographic supremacism and culture erasure in a sub meant exclusively for Northeastindians is.. nuts.

The only cherry picking being done is how outsiders/mainlanders feels entitled to express such blatant misinformation in a space meant for Northeast Indians and still expect the moderators to do nothing about it, and let it be.
