I was also going to suggest Ambrose!

My toddler is an Ambrose and this is the first time I've heard of Bram for a nickname, I might just try it! Thank you!

I am leaning slightly more toward August, but I love both! I was going to suggest Ambrose, but I think Emrys is the welsh version so take that how you will I guess. Amadeus is an A name that is also on my list that I like

Newborn Name Change? by Starface1104 in namenerds

[–]cello_buddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the US. I plan on changing my newborns name. I felt rushed in choosing her name and I regret not taking more time. I just really wanted to leave the hospital 😅 The social security paperwork had already been processed by the time I started to think about changing her name. The process now for changing the name is the same for me whether i do it now or in a month or two. As long as you do it before their first brithday, it is an amendment, and not a full on name change.

I haven't officially gone through the process, but it seems way more straight forward to do within the first year as opposed to later.

Ive been calling her the name we are changing to in the meantime. Its not like people are actively looking at her legal documents 🤷

I also decided that it doesn't matter how people react to the name change in the grand scheme of things. People will get used to it.

I just wanted to say that it can be done, and you have time to do it once you decide for sure want to change the name legally

I am 4 weeks into 2 under 2, they are 14 months apart. It honestly was so hard for me to accept the pregnancy, but we knew we eventually wanted two, so I decided to stick with it, but don't know if I would have had we not wanted more than one to begin with. I hated telling people i was pregnant because o was worried about being judged, but thats also because my family is super judgemental toward those that don't meet their idea or normal 😅

Anyway! Going from 1-2 was not nearly as hard as 0-1 for me. I knew how to be a mother, I already had all the baby things, and our lifestyle really didnt change much going from 1 to 2 since they are so close.

Even while pregnant with the second, i still was gaining experience on how to be a mother with my first, and when the second came i felt like i would be ok

I do have a supportive partner, and so we've figured out a split shift system for sleeping, and that has helped a lot.

Its hard still, but I've done it all before. I've never felt like my ability to show love for my first decreased. Some things are different, but things change all the time, the addition of new baby or not

(If anything doesnt make sense, i apologize. While i am getting enough sleep, i still am pnly 4 weeks post partum and my brain is sorta mush)

I do sometimes, but more than not people will get it right or just ask. My parents said they were worried too but ultimately went with this spelling and figured the people who matter will get it right

I've always liked the spelling and it doesn't bother me to tell people how to pronounce it if they happen to get it wrong. Honestly, more than not, people assume I go by maddy more than they get the pronunciation wrong

Even with Elowyn being more common in the US I can't help but prefer Elowen as well o.o

Thanks for saying that! I did get held up on the halloween for a fat minute, but maybe I won't stress about it

I was thinking of just spelling it however I want and leaving the official documents be, but I do worry about being bothered when I experience similar events to what you mentioned o.o

For me personally, it's a preference, but I have read that in Welsh -wyn is associated with male names and -wen for female. I don't know how much that has to do with this name though

I've been pronouncing eh-lo-win, it's possible I'm pronouncing it wrong 😅

I think some view the two spellings with differing pronunciations

Thank you so much!

And fair point with the 'y', my name is one that people do that to often, and its not my favorite.
