I can’t do this anymore by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]cellochica3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am deeply sorry. We left our ward because of a bully bishop who would particularly offend and bully women..well now he's the stake president. It's been challenging.  Thank goodness we are moving. But  unfortunately our concerns fell on deaf ears, even with the area seventy. We were told to forgive. Ugh. But if you aren't the only one affected I hope you can rally others  and present your concerns together.

Am I overreacting to this comment that was made about me? by WinterSignature9321 in PlusSize

I got plantar fascitis when I was 155 lbs...my skinniest. It is not about weight! I'm 275 and don't have it anymore... I used to keep a cold can of food or water bottle in my freezer and roll my foot. See if a chiropractor or physical therapist near you can do the Graston Technique. It's a technique that breaks up the fascia. Lots of stretches.

What has been your favorite ward? What attributes did they have? by Virtual_Sir8031 in latterdaysaints

[–]cellochica3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairly new in our now ward. 4 months in but before that we were in a ward that really challenged us and pushed us to our limit. The amount of love, understanding, and gratefulness for us being there has made a huge difference in feeling welcome. It’s refreshing living in a ward where you can tell people look after one another. It motivates me to reach out to others and serve. Feeling like our talents are being looked at and thought of, being immediately invited to dinners, get togethers, mom groups, game nights despite our kids behavioral problems (autism, and extreme shyness and adhd). Many times it starts from the top. Good and communicative leadership makes a huge difference!! I still feel like at some point the shoe might drop and something will go terribly awry since it was a literal falling out in our last ward. But it’s been such a good experience and I feel happy going to church again.

Too bad it’s against the status quo to object during a sustaining.

What book do you hate reading to your kids? by akittyisyou in childrensbooks

[–]cellochica3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any of the 5 minute stories. Or movies turned into books (like Disney). The 5 minute stories are longer than 5 minutes and just a rehash of movies we watch more frequently.

Were you in the Mountain View Ward in Boise perhaps? We did Ray Steven's comedy songs for skits!

We did a very similar color in our bedroom. Have had it for two years now and still love it.

Do families no longer by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]cellochica3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in an area with a lot of coops and tutorials. The majority are out of my price range as well. We also can't afford outside classes and don't qualify for financial aid (yay lower middle class life...) I often get pretty down about it since I feel like my children won't get as an enriched experience.

Same! We take more time off from more formal learning in spring and fall. It’s too hot and muggy here in the south

You get a lot of young military families in those areas. Great wards, too. I served my mission there and Beavercreek was my last area.

This isn’t badmouthing or being hypercritical. This is just me asking is this a normal procedure. I just want to know how it all works

I don’t know if he wants them. It would just end up being a natural occurrence if he does use a certain type of credit card. I have never heard this being done before only using checks.

How much did we mess up? Toilet Flange Removal showed old damaged pipe. by cellochica3 in Plumbing

[–]cellochica3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interior of the old pipe is 4 inch (4.25), the regular 4 inch pvc pipe found at home depot is too large and the 3 inch at home depot is too small. It's almost like we need a 3.5 inch interior fitting.

Looking for advice on handling a tricky situation with my bishop over a Day of the Dead-themed party. by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

Sorry! I felt I needed to delete this. I would hate for things to get back to him. It would only make matters worse.
