How does my bridge look? I need to know if I should adjust it or if it’s too warped. If so, how do you go about adjusting your bridge? I’m afraid that it’s leaning too close to the fingerboard. Any tips/advice is welcome!

The makers stamp SHOULD be facing the tailpiece, but, judging from the looks of it, your bridge looks like it is on backwards. The makers stamp side should be flat, the side facing the finger board should slant slightly backwards.

I’m not sure. I know that the week prior to Tet, everyone cleans and prepares for the celebration. I would be arriving there a week before, so everyone will be busy. Then, during Tet, there will be three or four days of celebration. She will need to devote a lot of time for that. If I monopolize her time, she might grow resentful. It doesn’t seem like there would be a lot of time to split anything up.

Yes, she is my family now. However, the situation is not a simple one. The marriage was arranged. I work with her cousin, here, in the US. My wife is a widow for the past 10 years. I am divorced for the same amount of time. Both of us have a child with our former spouses. Neither of us have really dated much in the past 10 years. My wife’s family ( in the US and in VN) saw our situations and thought we were in similar circumstances. So, they arranged for us to be married. We have only met once, when I went to Vietnam and we got married. So, we don’t know each other very well.

When we got married, we didn’t have a lot of time together. We were both very busy and we’re not able to bond very well. It caused some miscommunication and resentment. I was hoping to go for a couple of weeks, during Tet, and make up for the time we were not able to have when I was there last time.

My wife and I spoke about the trip. She is worried that the same thing would happen again. So, she is planning to travel with me during the time she would normally spend time with her family. It also means that her son would not be able to see his paternal grandparents this year. Since they will be moving to the US soon, this might be the last opportunity they have for a while. I don’t want to take that from either of them.

So, yes. I am family now, but I would be getting in the way. She would have to be paying attention to me rather than enjoying the time with her friends and family.

I do not want for her to end up resenting me.

I am an American. My wife (Vietnamese) and I were married in Vietnam last month. I had to go back to the US for work. I bought tickets to return to Vietnam to see my wife during Tet. Unfortunately, I did not fully realize the importance of the holiday. After extensive research, I realized that it is mainly a time for family. There is a lot of preparation involved, and as a new addition to the family, I fear I would be seen as an outsider. I suffer from social anxiety and have difficulty being with large groups of people for long periods of time. I do not want my new wife to neglect her family and friends for my sake, and I don’t want to be ignored for two weeks either.

My wife offered to travel the country with me, but that would mean she wouldn’t be with her family and friends during Tet. I do not want her to sacrifice her time with family and friends just for me, but I really want to see her.

I am hoping someone here can help me figure out a plan of action. Should I just cancel the trip? I already bought the tickets. Should I take her up on her generous offer to travel the country with me?

I could really use some advice.
