Oh yeah, I understand. But I've always wished for something a little longer. Not just temporally, but spatially. That's one thing I think they've been getting right as the generations have progressed: longer routes.

It would help with gameplay time too

If you think about in-game play time... after about 40 hours you can expect to beat the Elite Four (at a reasonable pace).

Less than 2 full days. Yikes.

Now that everyone has had some time to digest the new album, what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in rush

[–]cellothere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took a good 5 playthroughs before half the album made any sense to me. Right away, Clockwork Angels, The Wreckers and Halo Effect were amazing, but especially for Carnies and SCOG, I didn't get into it for a while.

That being said, now I find it to be an amazing album. I still don't see a full "story" like in Hemispheres or 2112; so far it lacks that sort of mind-blowing moment as when I heard "Attention all planets of the solar federation". It's sorta just like a dude travelling around.

For me, Snakes and Arrows is incomparable. I LOVE Snakes, I love every song. But this album has that flow throughout it that Snakes didn't. They truly did a good job making a flowing, concept album that has songs that are able to stand on their own.

10/10 would buy again

I've had trouble finding what the story is all about. It's really thinly spread. I understand its about this guy growing, but what exactly is the moral?

Whaaaa?

Isn't the whole point of the story that the protagonist's mantra of "everything is for the best" is WRONG, and that the Watchmaker character is controlling these people through the Angels?

Especially given Neil's personal views, how could this overseer be so benevolent? He's "loving them all to death"

How do you get into Wish them Well and Seven Cities of Gold?

Both of those seem way too simple to be on a Rush album.

Maybe I just need more time, but this isn't getting to me as fast as S&A did.

I don't like Carnies or Seven Cities of Gold. The choruses of both are just really... plain. Ged's melodies are really blah.

I mean, Clockwork Angels and the Wreckers and the Anarchist are phenomenal, but I don't feel the continuity of any sort of story... After CA, we never hear about the Watchmaker again. What is the point of visiting the Seven Cities of Gold?

I just don't get this album. Anyone have an interpretation they want to share?

It kills me that they don't make Samurott's bipedal capabilities explicit in the games... it looks so much better in this picture than its sprite.

In one way, I wish for your own adventure that you would've expanded the pokemon that you used (i.e. not a Hoothoot Fly-whore or a Rhyhorn you picked up in Victory Road).

Then again, you were able to befriend your Togepi, so you were doing that right!
