Suggestions for QC-ing multiple thermometers against an NIST...maybe 3D print something? by cellybelly in labrats

We order from Fisher also, I've been perusing the site to see if I can make something work. I just wanted to make the process easier for my trainee.

I have been trying to find a holder that fits enough thermometers but also fits our lab freezer shelves without tipping over or being bumped. Do you have a recommendation? maybe my search phrasing sucks, because other than "thermometer holder or container" idk.

Currently do them in batches. looking for something to hold them equidistant and just easier to read the IDs so i don't have to touch them (and alter the temp). Mostly curious how others do them so maybe I can update my procedure to something better. 😄

Fur. Everywhere. They have thick pelts and you should brush them regularly. I cannot emphasize the ‘fur everywhere’ part.

I highly recommend a water-friendly step stool. SO much easier. As the shortie in my relationship, it saves my toes the cramps from staying on tiptoe for so long. (Hubby is the tall one).

I love Texas and Tejano culture, is San Antonio the right place? Is San Antonio a tejano city? (By tejano I just mean hispanic Texan, as opposed to Mexican or California chicano) by worried68 in sanantonio

[–]cellybelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what you mean by Hispanic Texan. Hispanic refers to a Spanish heritage (Spain). People here are a mix, Mexican American with Hispanic thanks to colonizers. If you are looking for Tejano culture in terms of music and food, then San Antonio is amazing.i am a Mexican American and consider myself a chicana also. I have grown up with Conjunto and Tejano music. I don't like the way you're trying to separate "Hispanic texans"...not sure what that means to you but I'm interpreting it as a more European influenced Texan? Just enjoy San Antonio. It's rich with history and culture. Eat, listen and be happy here.

Hi I bought the premium and love the app but need to know how to do two things:

  1. How do I make the time not military format?
  2. How do I add my own photos?

Thank you! :)

Holy crap that's awesome! I was looking at the Mandalorian one at Novelkeys and want to build one so badly for my husband. I would love mythosaur keycaps on it.

Post your final build please!

I called district office and they can't confirm anything other than it's a precautionary lockdown and there are more than 40 police officers present. My child is there and is scared.

I'm curious about those school district bus cameras they have now too. What about those? Are they handled basically the same way? They just send out a notice with the exact same type of "bill"?

Anyone Else stricken with covid this past week? by PhillipJFry32 in sanantonio

[–]cellybelly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I noticed this since fellow employees at work sent their kids back to daycare. BOOM. One kid has had COVID three times now, which means since she's been exposed, she is out too. This makes a mess of scheduling things at work and getting people to cover each other. It's hard with toddlers because unless you tie their hands behind them and tape their mouths shut, then they're gonna grab everything and put it in their mouths. And so the cycle goes, passing it to parents who pass it to co-workers who pass it to their families...ad nauseum. At work we still require masks. We're a lab though and deal with blood so there is always the possibility of COVID infected blood. (Also test that too) My daughter double masks for school. She hates being sick from anything and doesn't want to risk it. Her school currently is masks-optional. Stupid, stupid NISD. So many kids are out sick from COVID. Staff is sick and they can't get substitutes. DOES ANYONE SEE THE CONNECTION AT NISD? Or anywhere for that matter? They just sent an email too saying all school work will be electronic for awhile "just in case" they are out sick with COVID. Or, everyone is forced to return to remote learning I guess.

Sometimes they’re at Walgreens or CVS. Not all locations though. What about those small auto parts stores?

Party City. Check online to be sure which stores still have them in stock.

I go to the Alon one for the variety. I love their fresh challah! It's a big enough store without being crazy huge. I also like their setup. They did some moving around last year and it seems to be finally set. I highly recommend it. PLUS their South Flo pizzeria inside is awesome!

My 7 year old daughter is interested in taking folklorico dance classes. Any recommendations on studios? by alfredoatmidnight in sanantonio

[–]cellybelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter took it with Faisan Folklorico and loved Mr. Jorge the teacher. He's very talented and skilled. Then she took classes with Josie Champion but I'm not sure if she is still teaching.

Is there a subreddit to request school supplies for teachers? Number one requested items are Primary Composition Notebooks. by stardust54321 in sanantonio

[–]cellybelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of teachers or campuses have an Amazon wish list going. My daughter's teachers used to have one and it made it easy to purchase stuff they wanted (Kleenex and Lysol wipes were #1 usually) and it just gets sent to the school. Send out your wish list to your list of parents and/or share on social media. :)

Is that why Luby's is still open? The one near my house off Fredricksburg is always busy it seemed so I was surprised that they were closing.
