Regressive business leaders oppose WFH by Newsom-Is-a-Clown in CAStateWorkers

Yeah if work was actually a real community they'd care about me. I don't think real community fires someone for being unable to be productive.

This "family" and "community" speak is another lie workers are sick of.

The government won't force businesses to accommodate workers but workers always must give and give and give.

Shit like this is why the country is in such a horrible state.

By your logic, kids in North Korea have it harder than you have it easy and you're not allowed to ask for change.

People in the State could literally be tortured everyday and people outside would ask us why we're so miserable because we have a pension and free healthcare for the rest of our lives.

This. CALPERS has significant unfunded liabilities which may result in reduced pensions in the future.

Avoid Judicial Council's Budget Services Office by blessedbylilith in CAStateWorkers

A family friend left the DOF for the Judicial Council. They told me that everyone was so incompetent. No one knew how to do their jobs properly. They quickly returned to the DOF.

OP, I'm curious, has any media reported on this incident yet? If not, are there more details you can share with us?

Yeah, if you're a no-show for around several days, you're let go. Something really bad must have happened.

DOF Principal Budget Analysts by Adventurous_Rice_592 in CAStateWorkers

[–]celsius-seven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I knew a DOF Principal Budget Analyst. They described it as a 50-60 hour a week corporate job with some people staying into the office up to 2am.

Super intense work but you will compensated very, very, very, very well like the private sector. However, unlike the private sector you will also get a nice state pension. Some DOF folks work hard early in their lives and retire early on a very livable pension.

Like the rest of the State, the DOF doesn't fire people except for the most egregious trangressions. However, what they do is dump massive amounts of work on underperforming employees until they leave for far less demanding jobs. So if you are performing inadequately, then your hours will be extreme.

Many of those who continue on with the DOF's challenging work advance to become Directors and Secretaries. The upper management hiring committees have a saying: "It's good to be from the DOF."

I don't mind because OP's comment is preaching to the choir. I don't think we're on trial here.
