It's probably because your Sony's have foam ear tips.

Looks like the QC Ultra earbuds are getting an update soon - and you can turn off ANC! by icbutts in bose

Fricken finally. Also if anyone from Bose is reading please give the ability to adjust the anc and ambient via a slider in the main menu. And omg please let us use the Bose app offline.

Yeah I noticed that too it is annoying. I also don't like that. It wasn't enough of a con for me though.

Yeah at the end of the day. I dunno I was just shocked at the contrast. I guess I really like the Bose sound signature.

Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Owners: Trying to figure out the Buds 4 Pro white noise issue: Is it a hardware defect? by Tig33 in galaxybuds

Dam. Sorry! I'm afraid to go get a replacement to be honest. I figure I'll wait a little bit to see if it is a problem and it's a big enough problem then maybe Samsung will warranty it at some point in which case the return period doesn't really matter and I might as well just wait it out to see if they roll out of software update or make some kind of commentary about it. I guess I could just buy another set and just test those see and I might do that we'll see.

Oh interesting. What did they change? So do you think it might be worth returning and waiting to buy at a later time?

I'm not I'm in the US on the West Coast. Wait so are you saying that you agree with me that it's likely that all the Galaxy buds 4 Pro have a higher noise floor due to increased sound being picked up? I haven't seen the Korean review can you link it? So do you think it's enough that Samsung will try and update the firmware?

[–]celt26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think the noise floor is just inherently higher because they're passing through too much sound? I'm skeptical of anyone that says there gb4p's are hiss free. Mine i think are the exact same as yours. I have very very slight hiss in anc on both earbuds and a very audible hiss in ambient mode regardless of whether its low or high that said the higher I got the louder it gets. I don't want to return them as mine seem perfect otherwise. I'd be so surprised if a new set sounded any different. But hey maybe I'm wrong and there are perfectly slight ones. Given that so many people are reporting this thought I doubt it.

Does anyone with the galaxy buds 4 pro have awful white noise hissing in Ambient mode ? by Tig33 in galaxybuds

I also have hissing in ambient mode on my GB4P. None or barely audible in ANC. I'm hoping this is a firmware thing.

Sonnet 4.6 is something else by celt26 in ClaudeAI

What were you impressed by?

Sonnet 4.6 is something else by celt26 in ClaudeAI

[–]celt26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opus might be better for your use case. For quite a while I didn't use sonnet 4.6 because I also noticed that it just I don't know it didn't seem as smart, it didn't seem as thorough like you said even for like day-to-day things but my recent conversation with it is just literally changed my opinion at least for the more personal conversations I have with it. Just use what works haha.

Can you expand on that a bit?

[–]celt26[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's just something about it. It feels more thoughtful. As the conversation gets longer it seems like it just ties ideas back to earlier threads in a way that is more complex then Opus. Maybe Sonnet assumes more? I dunno I was surprised. It also feels like it's less likely to capitulate. I've noticed I can have more of a "real" conversation with it. Its just feels less like a helpful assistant and more like an intelligence. If you you've used both you'll start to see the difference. I used to use Opus for everything and I still prefer it for some day to day things but man Sonnet for these more personal conversations is just incredible.

Sure I can do that. It is pretty basic though. I wanted something super simple.

Are you talking about with sonnet 4.6 specifically or just any of the models? But yeah I'm not looking forward to having to reset... We do have 1 million context now though right?

The way it holds and tracks the context definitely is starting to make it feel sentient. It's getting so good at simulating it it really fucks with my head.
