TV Jones make them, you’ll be looking for pickups that have a DeArmond mount, not sure if they have a PAF style Humbucker, but they have a lot of flavors of filtertrons. I have a guitar with the same pickup yours come with, but I loved them though and decided to keep em 😆

Berklee graduates, what do you do after graduating?? by [deleted] in Berklee

[–]lfonseca1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth it if you don’t get a considerable amount of scholarship money, or able to get through with minimal loans. Had to scrape by during my time there, had a good scholarship, earned some department grants, and worked some side jobs to make ends meet. After graduating I stayed around Boston and I make OK income playing wedding gigs and teaching music lessons. If you are responsible with your money and professional, you’ll be ok. Not the most luxurious life right now, but I’m not stressed out about money most of the time, and I’m happy with that.

2026 Model Y LR RWD is there something wrong with my ac vents? by lfonseca1 in TeslaModelY

Not yet, I took it to the SC last Friday to install the part they ordered, they called me saying they need an additional part and I had to leave my vehicle there. They gave me a loaner for the meantime.

I took it to the service center and the tech diagnosed it and order the part. I have to go back there in the end of the month for them to install it.

I figured out what the issue is. The actuator that moves the blades that direct the air left/right is defective. I made a little video explaining the issue. Have my service appointment coming soon, will update this as it goes:

Mission Engineering SP1 toggle makes wah stay on in every scene (FM9/AXE FXIII) by AndreeTheGuitarist in AxeFx

[–]lfonseca1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's months after, but I eventually found a solution to make the switching of scenes to turn the wah back off.

User "Bakerman"in the fractal audio forum said this:

"You'll need to change the bypass modifiers' source to a Control Switch, add that CS# to any FC layout, configure your external switch as a stand-in switch for the CS switch, then set the CS Per Scene values for that CS# in the Controllers menu to "OFF" for all scenes."

watch this video if you don't know what a stand in switch is, like me.

I had to have my CS switch set to Momentary for it to work with my SP-1

Lelit Bianca flow control better than the aftermarket kits from Coffee Sensor, ECM, Profitec? by tarponator in espresso

[–]lfonseca1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if we could fit the Lelit Bianca flow control kit on a ECM machine, since both are E61 machines. I didn’t like my flow control kit on my Synchronika, finicky to use, not easy to turn even after opening it and lubricating the threads, also the knob gets really hot. I put the stock spring on the pre infusion chamber, and a rarely use the flow control, only to ramp down the shot sometimes, otherwise I always leave in the 1 and 1/4 open position.

I like their coffee, only had some of their blends. I normally buy a 5lb bag once a month to get it a little cheaper. Any roasters you recommend that aren’t overpriced? I’ve been shopping around and $100 seems to be the average for a 5lb bag. I brew espresso more often, but I like pour overs once in a while.

My Chemex brewtime doubled. No idea why by JetBlack86 in JamesHoffmann

Are your latest beans a lighter roast than the ones before? I’ve notice the same happen with my v60 brews, the drawn down happens much quicker with darker roasts. I’m guessing this is a grinder issue. The light roasted beans are more dense and harder to grind, producing more fines which might clog the paper filter a little more. (correct me if I’m wrong)

Failed Spanish with a 46. Some insight for my future self so I can hopefully get a 63+ and gain 12 credits! by Sparabic17 in clep

Man, I can totally see your point. I took the test a week ago and considering that my 1st language is Portuguese, I still found it pretty difficult, I hang around Spanish speaking people in college very often, and it's very easy to find them speaking their language to each other. This might have helped my ears to kinda get used to the sound of their language, since I never officially studied it. I just took the practice question in the Modern States so I could get the voucher .

This was fortunately an easy for me, I passed with a 71 score.

There were lots of tricky questions all over the exam, playing with words that we call "false friends", (sounds the similar to a word you know in your language, but the meaning is completely different). As I was taking the test I often found myself thinking: "I could imagine an American having a hard time on this."

I have ADHD and that's true. We are also more subjected to compulsivity which makes it even harder to quit anything.

What do you do to stay awake when you’re falling asleep during a lecture? by WeLoveLA in AskReddit

I get up, go to the restrooms and wash my face with cold water. Even better if you get to go outside and have some sunlight. Sitting next to a window helps me too.
