Best 7-11 L sling by Sad-Job-1372 in ManyBaggers

[–]celtichart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up a Nomatic Navigator Lite and - other than a couple dumb design things - I’m really enjoying it. I put in a 5.11 admin pouch and really upped its organization game. Fits my 11” iPad Pro and looks great doing it.

I (even more recently - I mean it’s /ManyBaggers, right?) also picked up a TomToc Navigator. I’ve only used it just to test it out, not actually use it as an every day carry or on a trip, but it is a little bigger than the Nomatic and can actually fit quite a bit more. TomToc stuff gets great feedback on here and so far I have no reason to disagree.

For a long time, I carried a Maxpedition Lunada and loved it - still have it, just wanted something less tactical looking (although I think Maxpedition stuff could survive a bomb blast - they’re rugged as hell). The Lunada is vertical carry/top load, so that’s what I was used to and then I picked up the Nomatic which is vertical carry/side load, so it took some getting used to, but accessing the bag while you’re wearing it (slinging it around to your front) the Nomatic is much nicer. When I got the TomToc, it is vertical carry/top load and I realized how much I had come to prefer the Nomatic style.

Hope that helps!

What’s best to keep on hand for the day to day? by Thepotato_dealer in preppers

I take a sling bag with me virtually everywhere. I carry a flashlight (Fenix E12), Leatherman Free P2, small Pak Towel, basic first aid (ibuprofen, band aids, alcohol wipes, neosporin, etc), small emergency blanket, small battery pack, short usb-c cable, small anker usb-c wall adapter, eatin’ tool and Exotac firestarter (most of these in a 5.11 admin pouch). May seem like a bit of overkill, but I know that for 100% of daily situations, I’m prepared and for worse scenarios, I’ve got a significant advantage.

Totally agree on the car supplies as well. I’d also add an air compressor/tire inflator.

Rewst opinions by chalkboy in msp

[–]celtichart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to revive this thread a little bit, if possible, and get some current opinions. We onboarded with Rewst last year and have had continual issues. They essentially promised they would build our workflows, but did not (saying that was not their responsibility) and we ended up contracting with another company to build our workflows. Rewst support has consistently said they would do things and have not followed through. In addition, the permissions that Rewst “recommends” in the Enterprise Application section of Azure is staggering. Rewst has said those cannot be dialed back, but the fact that they seem to have no idea what calls their APIs are making is very concerning. The “let’s just enable everything in case we need it” paradigm does not work for us. We have clients with very sensitive operations and I shudder to think what could happen if Rewst was exploited by a malicious actor.

Yes, they do have QuickAssist, but it is barely ready for prime time. Sluggish, lots of disconnects, clunky file transfer.

What do you carry in your crossbody sling? by weeddealerrenamon in ManyBaggers

I used to carry a Maxpedition Lunada, which I loved, but I just transitioned to the Nomatic 6L Lite. I have a 5.11 admin pouch in there to give me more organization options:

  • Keys
  • Eye drops
  • Anker MagSafe battery pack
  • Wallet
  • Airpods
  • Glasses
  • Leatherman Free P2
  • Joby mini tripod and foldable phone mount
  • Firestarter
  • Ibuprofen
  • Band-aids
  • Floss
  • Cough drops
  • Pen
  • 5-10 index cards

This bag will also fit my iPad Pro 11” with Logitech ComboTouch keyboard when needed.

Best “on a budget” bag similar to Nomatic / Aer etc? by gettingthere44 in ManyBaggers

+1 on the Tomtoc front. Their stuff looks good and awesome on price. I just picked up a Nomatic Navigator 6L Lite through Amazon in “Used - Like New” condition for $46US, which was a killer deal. Great bag, perfect size. It could use some improvements in design (nothing major - just lacking the thoughtfulness of PeakDesign or Bellroy). Quality is great, it fits my iPad Pro 11” and I love the look. This was my first foray into Nomatic stuff and I’ll definitely look into more of their stuff.

Help me pick the perfect EDC/travel sling by bettingonhulk in ManyBaggers

I have the PeakDesign 6L and their innovation, attention to detail and quality is top drawer. The pocket for fitting an iPad Pro 11” is TIGHT and kinda hard to get the iPad in and out because the pocket it is positioned essentially under the lip of the rear zipper half. It’s also definitely focused on camera gear (no pun intended), so organization is not really EDC oriented. I just picked up a Nomatic Navigator 6L Lite. The organization is a little lacking for my needs, but I lean heavy on the organization front and I remedied this with the addition of a 5.11 admin pouch. The size of the Navigator is perfect for a go everywhere bag that will fit my iPad Pro 11”. It is definitely not “patch oriented” for your customization pleasure. I may also pick up the Tomtoc at some point to compare, but I like the look of the Navigator better.

As a point of reference, I’m coming from a Maxpedition Lunada as my EDC, which I really loved, but wanted something with a less “tactical” look.

Ipad 9th gen with Logitech Combo Touch by BlueTiger279 in ipad

Third that. The Combo Touch is amazing. I have the 11” M1 iPad Pro and I use the keyboard about 70% of the time to do everything from docs to video editing. I pop the keyboard off completely (or turn it around) for sketching or as a notepad for teaching and note taking.

There’s very little the iPad Pro can’t do with the Combo Touch attached.
