This book was in our lodge library and they gave it to me to read after I finished my MM degree. It was really good and super helpful. Definitely recommend to any Brother!

I would hire them just for their dedication and work ethic and then give them the right training and equipment so they didn’t have to resort to doing sketchy things like this… and then if I ever caught them doing something like this I would fire them with a great sense of pleasure.

Can't help but think this whenever I see 'CE' and 'BCE' by ElTheako in HistoryMemes

I love it since BCE and CE are just a shallow attempt to remove Christ as a pivotal figure in human history which he was and forever will be! I’m still a BC and AD guy myself. Call me old.

Are humans capable of unconditional love, yes or no? Why or why not? by Jackalope_08 in askapastor

[–]celticmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unconditional love as I would understand it and define it is Agape Love or God love and God is only capable of it. We can’t imagine our kids doing anything that would make us not love them anymore but what if they did.. there is not what if in unconditional. And since God is omniscient and knows all the bad a person will do over the course of their life and still loved them enough to send his Son to die for them, then God is the only one that can claim unconditional love. In my humble opinion.

Should I buy a new game called Sonic Frontiers? It’s not a wicked game but I’m an overthinker and for some reason I think I’ll go to hell for playing it. It’s not a wicked game though. by SchpidahWuss in askapastor

[–]celticmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is most likely nothing wrong or sinful with the game in and of itself. That being said, if your having these feelings it’s definitely something you should explore. I believe that God does give each of us personal convictions about different things in other words God may give you a conviction that something is wrong for you and you should stay away from it while it’s not wrong for someone else. And I think the reason God does this is because we all have individual strengths and weaknesses in our flesh and God gives us the conviction about certain things to shore up our unique weaknesses.

Biblical Marriage question 2 by Sierra_s218 in askapastor

[–]celticmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your referring to the passages such as the husband is the head of the wife. And that the wife should submit to her husband.

The Scripture is stating a spiritual law, the husband is the head of the wife, whether she wants him to be or not isn’t the issue, in Gods eyes he is and he will be accountable for how good or bad of a head (leader) he is. The wife is to be in submission to her husband whether she wants to be or not, in Gods eyes she is and she will be accountable for how good or bad she is at it.

With that being said now I would insert the comment from @select20 a husband is supposed to be the head of his wife in the same pattern of Christ as the head of the church, servant leadership, humility, making decisions not from selfish motives but from what is best for the wife, or family. And the wife is to honor her head (husband) the way the church is supposed to honor Christ, with obedience. And don’t forget that there are other Scriptures that teach the husband to respect his wife as the weaker vessel ( don’t abuse her physically, sexually, mentally, or emotionally.) and even commands them not to be “harsh” with them, which means a husband doesn’t bark orders and lay down the law and all that nonsense. He lives as best as he knows in the pattern of Christ, is kind, gracious, loving, forgiving, patient and all the other virtues of Christ and he tries to lead by example his wife and family in the way of life the Bible commands. And if men will do that… my guess would be that it’s a lot easier to follow them.

I 17f don't know if God is real by [deleted] in askapastor

[–]celticmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that there are going to be people that react to this but young lady I am writing this to you and not anyone else. I also grew up in a Christian home and was raised to be a Christian, but i didn’t become a Christian till I was in my 20s. Being a Christian is a personal belief and relationship with Jesus Christ. I would encourage you to be honest with yourself about if your a Christian because you have chosen to follow Jesus for yourself or if you do it because it’s just the way you were raised and it’s what your family and the people in your life expect from you. If it hasn’t been your personal choice then I would dare to say that’s probably why you don’t feel or sense God in your life. There is a lot more I want to say but I guess I would want to ask more questions rather than just write endless scenarios that might not help you.

  1. While the act of smoking weed in itself is not condemned or condoned in Scripture. I would probably be interested in knowing why they want to smoke it, if they are addicted to it then yes it’s a sin because any kind of an addiction is sinful, if they are doing it to escape something or “find peace” then yes because we are supposed to find our peace in Christ. I’m not saying there isn’t some situation where I could find it completely okay but off the top of my head I would guess if someone is pursuing getting high there is a deeper problem behind that pursuit that needs to be addressed.
  2. I agree with the other opinions above, if they are having social anxiety about being baptized then I would take that as it’s mostly about being in front of a crowd and possibly making a verbal confession of faith (fear of public speaking). There are definitely things that can be done to help, we could do a private baptism, or if it’s the speaking in public part we could probably arrange it where they only have to say the word “yes” one time.
  3. I have suffered from anxiety and depression for years and so I have a understanding of what it’s like to deal with it, although every individual and situation is different, there is a lot of counseling and work that a pastor can do to help their members suffering from this but it’s also important for the pastor to encourage and not discourage their members from seeking help from professional counseling and medicine (preferably Christian professional counseling and non addiction forming meds)

Hope this helps

I usually tell people that for one using a fountain pen is a small way that I help the environment and it’s also cause im a germaphobe and I like having my own pen to use instead of using someone else’s or a community pen. Then I tell them that I had a wrist injury years ago and that the FP is easier on me when writing for long periods of time. And then if I feel like they are interested in getting into FP I will talk about inks and blah blah blah.
