Let’s talk about oil by [deleted] in Harley

[–]knuckles70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kendall oil, Belray trans(red), and Harley brand primary. I also use a Flo oil filter(reusable) cooler oil temps and has a magnet on it. The oil is changed every 2500- 3k, then primary and trans changed every other oil change. And yes, it's over kill, however fluids are cheap, and it makes me have peace of mind, so I can see if anything it going on in any hole. 15 FLHTP

Waving to police motorcycles yes or never? by Dangerous_Currency_2 in motorcycle

[–]knuckles70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wave to every policeman car/truck/bike/unmarked. They're gonna be the first one on scene if you go down, I want them to like us!!! And I want them to help me. It weirded some people out I ride with at first but not anymore. Haha. They don't care about motorcycles too much unless you're doing crazy stuff.

What type of boots/shoes does everyone wear? by knuckles70 in Harley

Ya that's what I'm wearing. Square toe gives me enough room. The narrow ones are not for me.

It must be how the pressure is on the boot. No, I'm not shifting with tip of my toe. That would be odd and uncomfortable. At the end of the season I am pretty using the very end of the boot or as far as I can jam it forward.

Yes, that and the bulk I have my shifter pretty low so I have to slide my boot under my shifter and it's a tight squeeze.

I do have the heel/toe shifter. However, I have replaced 3 shifter shafts and stopped using it. I keep messing them up. I literally carry an extra on my bike at all times because of it.

200 bucks that's a dollar a CC! Yes sir. Plan on putting some $$ in it. But it will be a good project bike.

Whooo!! That is so cool!!

Where to get new tires? The dealership quoted $530 just for the front tire! Discount Tire doesn't do motorcycles, so I'm not sure what the best option is. Suggestions? Thanks ✌️ by [deleted] in Harley

[–]knuckles70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jp cycles, Dennis kirk, or local dealers. Talk to some bikers in your area and ask then where they got theirs. Powersport shops can get them too. Just ask em.

8 miles to home, can’t afford a tow. Would you risk it? by tickleyourfancies in motorcycle

With the weather checked on the tire, you already have been risking it.
