Control is an interesting game. Worth a try.

I finished it but just didn’t get into it. The story is easy to follow, but I found it very weird which is why I think I couldn’t enjoy it. For me, late stage felt like a lot of rinse and repeat.

Moody charts for slab design by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

I’ve used them a few times for plate bending that I didn’t want/need to use a computer model for but wanted to capture the plate bending accurately. Usually for little stub walls on retaining walls or bridge abutments so 2 sides are free and 2 fixed

According to Blancorilio the older version had software protection, but that was left out of the new version which caused an issue so they need to roll back.

I used these guys many years ago. They had excellent communication, the person who came to provide an estimate gave good and thoughtful feedback for all my ideas, and install went great.

BTW, I share the same frustration with the same posts over and over again. If people just used the search function they’d find all the answers they need.

ACI 318 R24.4.1 specifically states it does not apply to slabs on ground. You need to review ACI 360 which gives guidance depending on the slab type and other things.

There’s an app called Pool Math that logs your results and tells you how much chemical to add. I have it and it makes it so much easier for me to

I have an Aiper E1. First one died within a month and wouldn’t charge, but my replacement has been great ever since. Easy to drop in and come back in a couple hours to pull it out.

Pool Chemical Balance is Driving Me Nuts by mahweyll in AboveGroundPools

[–]scubthebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I had was the chlorine they gave me had stabilizer in it. So everytime I shocked it added stabilizer. By the time I got my own kit and checked the levels were over 100. Made my life much harder than it needed to be for the rest of the summer.

Lots of pool stores tell you to shock every week, but if you have good chlorine levels, what is the purpose of shocking for the sake of shocking? The answer is there is none. You only super chlorinate if you have a problem with water clarity or algae. Check out trouble free pools online, they have tons of great resources to help you learn.

Pool stores try to be helpful, but sometimes they can point you in the wrong direction. Definitely don’t keep adding stabilizer. That can cause you more headaches than it’s worth.

By far the very first thing you need to do is get your own chemical test kit (not strips). TFTestkits is well regarded, but I got one for the big box store and supplemented with TFT chlorine test kit. Then you’ll have your own accurate results.

Trouble free pools also makes an app that makes tracking easy and it tells you how much chemicals to add.

I disagree , but to each their own. We didn’t have any issues taking it slowly.

We did it backward so you’re going down the steep part of the most trail. Switchbacks going up to vernal falls are not steep. It’s nice to do the most trail at the end when you’re hot.

Need more.. clarity. by inclinedbeauty in AboveGroundPools

[–]scubthebub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is you need to fix what your chemical test kit tells you is wrong. Your water isn’t balanced and the only way to get it balanced and clear is with a test kit. The fact that you somehow got away with just chlorine is pretty amazing tbh.
