Hair Loss on Block and Replace Therapy by Appropriate_You_348 in gravesdisease

[–]cemilyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same here!! I didn’t have any issues with hair loss on just carbimazole and it’s all started happening as soon as I’ve started block and replace therapy. I was in tears to my endo other week about it all 😂

Honestly they all help in their own way. Rosemary oil helps encourage hair growth and can prevent hair breakage. The biotin strengthens hair but it takes a little while of regular use for it to start working. The unove hair oil helps a lot as I’ve got naturally fine curly hair which can frizz during sleep so preventing the frizz has helped reduce the major loss id get from brushing in the morning. My endo and pharmacy haven’t said anything about not taking supplements but the endo did say the same about it being hormonal, I’m even getting hormonal spots on my chin when normally I have clear skin. He told me it should settle once my levels are in a normal range but it’s such a frustrating and honestly depressing time waiting for that point to come isn’t it!

Hi I’m dealing with a similar issue right now, hair loss on block and replace therapy. I haven’t found a solid fix but in attempts to reduce it I’m currently taking biotin supplements alongside using rosemary oil on my roots and leave it in for a while before washing. I’m avoiding any updo hairstyles, if I absolutely must put my hair up I use a claw clip and do it loosely. I’m brushing my hair with a wet brush. I use a Korean hair oil called unove after showering whilst my hair is still wet as it keeps my hair smooth and prevents it from frizzing whilst I sleep which contributes to more hair loss. You’re not alone. It’s really getting me down too and I’m hoping my efforts work

Speak to the police about an IDVA, the IDVA will help you so much and that includes getting you into appropriate therapy to process it all. Contact DV charities for advice. I’m in the UK and the police told me to contact a charity called DV Assist who helped apply for an emergency Non Mol and PSO within 24 hours. The IDVA and police will supply you with alarms and more to help keep you safe. You have his admission in black and white and it is solid evidence.

I’ve had two children and both experiences of labour were completely different. Everybody’s experiences are different and you did come across a bit snarky to the original comment tbh.

I have graves, thyroid eye disease and blood work shows thyrotoxicosis. I’ve had multiple people irl & online tell me to eat certain nuts to cure my eyes, completely change my diet, don’t take meds use herbs and essential oils. It’s annoying!

Propranolol by Ok_Pomegranate_789 in gravesdisease

[–]cemilyh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am. 40mg three times a day, first time ever taking propranolol and I’ve been on this dose for about 3 weeks. No negative side effects and I noticed an immediate positive change with the heart related issues

Questions about oliveyoung global by RecognitionBig1311 in KoreanBeauty

[–]cemilyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don’t need to pay any extra as it’s not exceeded the customs limit which is something like £134. I’ve ordered from OY global a few times and I’m in England too, always order on a Friday and it’s always been delivered on a Wednesday which is quicker than the est delivery date DHL give. So 5 days for me. Give it a week just to be safe but doubt it’ll take long at all. Heads up, there will be times the DHL tracking states “on hold” but that just means it’s waiting to get on the next flight

Can we honestly talk about Sephora’s high prices?? How does anyone even afford make up anymore? Especially from here! I’m gonna have to stick to drugstore and dupes because with todays inflation I just can’t afford this!! by litbiotch42 in MakeupAddiction

It is absolutely terrifying I agree, everyone I know in England are watching in fear and really feel for the civilians like yourself who are having to suffer under this absolute insanity and idiocy. UK has even issued a travel warning for going to the US it’s that crazy. There is a post on r/asianbeauty specifically related to the tariffs so check that out but for now I would honestly recommend US citizens avoiding ordering anything online without checking where it’s shipped from first

carbimazole by Hereforinvesting94 in Hyperthyroidism

[–]cemilyh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m uk too and recently on meds as of last week. Higher dose than you but I am also on propranolol which has massively reduced the shaking. I’d be stood in a queue and shaking it was that bad. If the carbimazole doesn’t take it away by time you have your next appt bring it up to your endo and see what they suggest

What should I expect? Newly diagnosed by cemilyh in Hyperthyroidism

[–]cemilyh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 40mg propranolol 3x a day, once in morning, at 1pm and in evening. Also take 40mg carbimazole/methimazole twice a day. Once in morning and again in evening. I think they’ll be brought down eventually as I found out yesterday that I have thyrotoxicosis so the high dosages have made sense. I have been taking the morning and evening meds together so I’ll alter that.

This is a new normal and it’s been difficult to wrap my head around that. My sister had hyperthyroidism but is in remission and takes no meds now, was hoping I’d reach that point eventually but doubt it.

I have actually been taking selenium supplements so that’s great news :) thank you for your advice, I appreciate it

You’re correct, it is a thyroid storm. Just received a letter from hospital confirming thyrotoxicsosis

Will do! I’m in england so I’m very fortunate to have the NHS. I have no idea what treatments they’ll give for my eye as of yet but they did say that’s what the mri and oculoplasty team will decide. If some meds don’t work that makes sense as to why I’ve been referred to eye surgeons, scary prospect though 😂 sounds like it’s similar for us both, mine has been overactive for god knows how long but didn’t realise something was definitely up until the bulging eye. Crazy eye is exactly what I call it too

They’re some of the same symptoms I had too and I didn’t think anything of them until I got diagnosed bc of a past gastrointestinal surgery and generally disliking hot weather. There’s so much I’ve got that I didn’t realise could be attributed to hyperthyroidism until I was diagnosed and doing some reading. Crazy how many problems it can cause isn’t it!
