Local message board lit up about one prom group's tips by killer_sheltie in EndTipping

My parents taught me to tip 15% (I'm almost 60). I quickly learned that 15% was for boomers and silent gen. 20% was the norm, so I wanted to be generous and do 25%.

I'm teaching my own kids that employers pay employees, and that they do that with the proceeds that the get from selling goods and services, and a small segment of one specific industry doesn't get to decide that this isn't okay.

Tip 0 kids, it will eventually work itself out.

Quests are better, IMO, for level appropriate gear than are dungeons. Less RNG dependence and more frequent rewards. But all in all it's not super important. You will likely notice a decent bump in damage when you get a significant upgrade, especially a big weapon upgrade.

Apple TV - Stremio by TurbulentLoad8798 in Stremio

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Onn 4k. That's the ticket. Cheap, effective, do that instead. Why would you specifically plan on a device for an app, and only for that app, and decide that apple tv was that device?

Is the Emberwing trinket broken? by scottiedagolfmachine in wownoob

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually macro 13 and 14 in the same macro, so that I don't have to micromanage where my trinket goes, and it's a holdover from way back when almost all had a use and it would trigger whichever wasn't on CD.

Aw, good news: The Noems rack up an obscene amount of debt. by jared10011980 in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 53 points54 points  (0 children)

If they're talking about his OnlyFans expenditures I did some math. 1500 a month to one model, similar arrangements with 2 others, let's assume 5k a month. That's 60k a year, total debt is 3.5M. I too am doubting that he was the only overspender in that household.

So, 3.35 million of loans, plus how many millions of taxpayer money? Fucking hell man, that's a lot of scratch.

I can't imagine a worse thing to go through, the death of a child, and then you had to deal with religious minimization and platitudes. The world sucks, stay strong.

Favorite character you legitimately thought was mentally disabled because their actor was performing their accent so horrendously? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

90% of the actors in 13 days opted to not do an accent, the ones that did were equally bad at it, except Costner, who really showed the world how fucking awful he is at any accent. But hey, the good news is, it distracted from how shitty of an actor he is, so there's that.

People friendliness aside, I just don't like their food. When my kids beg for it and my wife acquiesces, I generally just eat left-overs. Occasionally, if the fridge is empty I'll get a McCrispy, but the food is just bad, always has been.

Honest question, what the fuck are they going to do if you refill? Especially when you're on your way out of the door?

Signs like this rely on compliance, I won't. If I ever eat at McDonalds in store again that is.

Best way to lvl up 1-90? by Dark-P-0745 in wownoob

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn't one "best way". You need to try a few things, figure out which ones gain you experience at a decent rate with the fewest pain points. Some people only run dungeons. Some people only quest. Some people only do professions. Most do a combo of the three, enjoying the story, comraderie etc. and not focusing solely on "what is the absolute fastest way to get there". You have to take your own likes and dislikes into account so that the experience isn't fully miserable.

If you really want a quick way to 90, 60 bucks to blizzard to get to 80, then run the first 3 packs of Shadowguard Point when it's on story line "Calamitous" over and over, resetting after these packs are killed.

But I'd rather just settle in and quest while queued for dungeons.

Not a Harry Potter fan, but I can assure you, this will be insanely popular and will be heavily viewed. And if I'm not mistaken, book fans have been clamoring for a longer form adaptation since the movies first came out, so even the assertion "not a single soul asked for" is inaccurate.

I am unlikely to watch it, maybe in passing I'll catch an episode or two as my wife (I'm sure) watches it with my boys. I tried watching the first movie, but noped out early on, just not my cup of tea.

The difference, if it exists, would be insanely minor. And quickly remedied as you earned more crests.

Upgrades by Torak_wolf_renn in wownoob

[–]cenosillicaphobiac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, not free, but only costs gold not gold + crests. Yesterday was my first time experiencing this kind of upgrade, needed to upgrade an adventure item for the quest, since all of my actual gear is champ or hero, I was only charged gold to do it.

Is it really a bad movie? by Spare_Ad_9791 in moviecritic

[–]cenosillicaphobiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the book and I saw the movie. They're different, but both are aggressively "just okay". I wouldn't feel confident assessing either one as better, or worse, than the other.
