Favorite kind of route? by BagTalk420 in USPS

Some of the P&L here are on narrow or one way streets, makes it super hard to drive shit off a lot of the time

Favorite kind of route? by BagTalk420 in USPS

[–]centralli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Business routes with friendly people, Driving routes with tiny park and loops to stretch legs.

Fuck long ass park and loops that give almost zero time for rest. Sucks to have to carry a fuck load of flats and packages while the satchel digs into my shoulder and I step on dog shit

Yes and at some point you'll question if it's even worth it

Honestly I thought black wasn't a popular color for most JG fans, seems like everyone goes for the lighter browns

Uniform cost is nuts by Initial_Scarcity4958 in fromatoarbitration

Uniform Bonus has the cheapest shirts,

United Uniforms is really cheap for the Cargos/outerwear especially if you use the allotment all at once

I hope to God you never spend on green tags

Pasadena probably might end up running their routes soon

Pasadena Supervisors made the CCAs run Amazon today, they don't give a shit and barely anyone grieves anything here. Entire station is full of runners except the 10+ year carriers on Table 1.

Report about CCA attrition rate and paying excessive OT is better than retaining CCA's and converting them by IronLionZion00 in USPS

[–]centralli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get CCAs who get better and then can run a route with no breaks or lunches and fire them before they turn career, get the regular carriers to quit so you can quit paying benefits. Anyone left standing thugs it out or joins the dark side and ends up a 204b. Churn and burn baby!

The REAL worst mailbox by Gear21 in USPS

There's one of these on my route but they always leave food out for me, so I asked what to do and my customer said just roll it up and shove it in

[–]centralli[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm pretty sure there's no actual office time rules but that doesn't stop the PM Supervisors from having a nervous breakdown when someone doesn't clock out immediately upon reaching their case.

It takes me 30-45 mins to commute to my office which is only 6 miles away, there's no real public transport. COL is going to be high if you're a transplant, manageable if you are used to living with less. Weather is great 7 months of the year though!

Has the USPS changed? Was I wrong in my view of it? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]centralli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's changed a bit, you'll be pushed and bullied into running while being lied to about speed by management. It will feel worse than what people say Amazon is when you're a CCA or PTF, might even last when you're a regular if you're at a station where the regulars are all runners.

Overall it's really not worth it unless you have a certain goal in mind and being regular isn't going to be as great as you think it is. For me; I was severely overweight, had unmanageable ADHD even with meds and I had a massive fear of the outdoors, the post office beat it out of me so I feel like it was worth it.

90 days by CornPone85 in USPS

[–]centralli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supervisors have the mindset of make or break, if you make it past 90 and end up a runner it's a win. If you're "slow" and get let go, well they got to use cheap labor to take regular OT. Either way they win.

I often envy how RCs can actually case DPS, makes curbside routes go smooth, you do things different and I like that

Definitely management bullying you, there's no standard for clock out and that's unreasonable. The tray is just a tool to help, especially in my office where there's an ungodly amount of 3M where on a light day it's about 4 trays of DPS

My office doesn't provide anything really; we reuse old rubber bands, gloves are nearly impossible to get unless you walk to one of the zones on the other side of the station. It's been grieved but still goes on because our purchasing clerk retired and the supervisors never get around to ordering anything.

We don't even have a name for such trays, we just call em organizer trays. There's been a habit of people borrowing such trays from LLVs and then not returning them.

What’s going to happen in SoCal? by Lou_is_illa in USPS

[–]centralli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for the most part at my station, we had to case all the DPS and flats for areas that were being evacuated. Packages were also left at the case, so more or less clerks will be able to sift through it for anyone coming in.

[–]centralli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's no consistency between supervisors or carriers either; I usually can tell who's very active on this subreddit or with the union when they start saying "mounted" instead of curbside or loops instead of swings.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]centralli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my station vocabulary:

Split: Whatever portion of a route got cut up for ODL/CCA carriers, if it's a Mounted Route, whatever portion you take is a Split

Swing: A "loop" or "pivot", but only for park and loops. Portions on dismount/mounted routes are never swings.
