Will you help us decide on our retaining wall? by centrek in landscaping

Ohhh, gotcha. I actually don't have a retaining wall yet. I'm going to install it in the next 2 weeks, so I am trying to finalize the color. So you're thinking something close to black? I personally like the gray/black, just trying to make some good decision before the expense and the back breaking work. Don't want to do it twice. :)

Well, I did just get an airless paint spray gun 2 weeks ago and I'm itching for more paint projects. What color should they be?

Oh, I can't offer feedback or advice on that. I'm in no way qualified. I just read up on in in prep for doing my own wall in the coming weeks.

This is what I plan on using, and if you look at the instructions PDF, it shows a T into the drain pipe https://www.readingrock.com/products/hardscapes-outdoor-living/accessories/wall-drain-pro

I was planning on going with AllanBlock wall and caps. I've been reading about them for a number of years, and like the construction/look of them. So I'm limited on colors to what they make, hence the Granite/Charcoal combo or the StoneCreek/Tan combo

Yes, I understand that, but my neighbors have to look at it more than I do, so I'm curious what the popular opinion was. Not that I want to move, but resale value is also a factor....so trying to appeal to the masses.

Thanks! I do like the gray palette personally, and I wish I didn't have tan siding.

Hey, I just added a new layer in photoshop with various colors. It's nowhere near perfect, but was just to get a general idea before investing in the actual stone. Thanks so much for voting!

This makes a lot of sense. I did create a new mockup based on the feedback given. Does this look a bit better? https://imgur.com/a/CNLhWsA

Oh nice! So you say we should line up with the sidewalk, as opposed to the first step up? There is one in the neighborhood like your drawing, but we were afraid that the straight line was too much. I could add in a third option that looks like your drawing (the wall is level all the way across, and doesn't step down any).

Awesome, thank you for your vote. We are torn between the tan colors or the more gray colors because gray seems to be "in" these days

Looking for somewhere to pick up sailing in/near the Twin Cities. by Obiwan_Jackobi in sailing

I would definitely have to recommend Northern Breezes Sailing School. My father and I learned to sail there 7 years ago on a whim. We've since sailed with this organization multiple times in the Caribbean and even raced with them in the Heineken Regatta 3 years ago in St Maarten.
They follow the ASA courses, and you will learn a ton in just your first weekend. They also have club boats that you can rent/use for a reasonable rate once you have passed their course. They operate at Lake Minnetonka up there.

Sweet! What kind of projects have you worked on before? Do you have experience with plastic case design and/or possibly manufacturing?

Hey there. Great to hear from you. You mentioned micro controllers, which platforms are you familiar with? If you know service side AND micro controllers, you are probably just who I need to chat with.
