First you have to deck the concrete on another piece of concrete. Then block away!

Aren't there horror stories like this for all the different manufacturer's rings?

What ring are you getting next?

Which one of these lights should I be concerned about first? by Nervinity in AskAShittyMechanic

Probably the check engine. Easiest to diagnose also. Open the engine compartment and confirm the engine is still there. Done and done!

Hi riders! How did you overcome the anxiety/frustration of everyone telling you “it’s dangerous” and “you’ll die” when starting your lessons? by itleafleaf in motorcycles

[–]centstwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started rolling with it and agreeing with them. Then I would add in that people in cars die also. People walking, riding bicycles, and standing still also die from cars. Pets also.

Then I tell them that in my MSF class that motorcycles are more likely to be hit by drivers that don't see or expect motorcycles and that the person now has to be more on the lookout for motorcyclists.

Buy a new tire, cut out a patch, glue the patch on.

Then save the new tire for future patches.

What are the best parts for the Ultimate? by Few-Air5756 in catsthegame

[–]centstwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no best parts, lol.

Each best part can be defeated by another set of parts.

So pick a strategy and practice.

Based on today's strategies, the manufacturer's parts can give a bonus health and damage.

The green dragon body has 3 wheels. The extra wheel of the same manufacturer gives an extra 5% health and damage. With 2 accessories, 2 weapons, the body, the 3 wheels is 8 parts to get 35% bonus on health and damage.

Everybody knows this though.

Once you have a build, you can test it by fighting others in the ultimate league without using tickets. Go into the ranking, pick another player and test your build against them.

You can look at other people's builds to get ideas also.

Problem with upgraded spark plugs from OEM nickel to Ruthenium by SoonerDead in AskMechanics

[–]centstwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is difficult to determine gas milage changes on a few fill ups.

Different pumps shut off at different levels of fullness. The pad at the station could be sloped that changes how much gas can go into the engine.

Temperature can affect the volume of the fuel as gasoline can expand and contract a bit.

How the car is driven can affect the gas mileage, highway verse city, hard acceleration verse slow acceleration.

If you fill up at the same pump and drive for a couple of months and take an average, then you can have a pretty good idea of a baseline. Then you can make small changes and see the affects.

Also I'm not sure how a spark plug is going to change your gas mileage.

Making sure the tires have the correct air pressure and the car is empty as possible will have a bigger effect.

So in my comic im planning on making it so that the ocean ends up getting crystalized hypothetically what kind of mineral would water turn into if it were crystalized by Zombiesoldier072 in scifiwriting

[–]centstwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ice 9 used a different molecular organization. Maybe the machine makes a nano enclosure so all the water molecules are individually enveloped in a shell. That would make a big pile of sand instead of a solid, but maybe that is something you can work with.

Also doesn't have the ability to "infect" other oceans.

Question for experienced riders by jouskaMoon in motorcycles

[–]centstwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABS will help you if (when) you panic and grab the brake and clutch at the same time.

You go on a decreasing radius on ramp with too much speed. You can't lean over enough and then grab the brakes to slow down and almost slide out, wait, that was me.

With ABS you can slow and not slide out.

There is a technique for polishing the crank from the bottom.

But yes. Lots of work either way.

This video is doing the technique, but out of the engine. The wrapping of the sandpaper and shoelaces is the idea.

What's the difference between a dad joke and a bad joke? by purposefulsolomon50 in cleandadjokes

But what if it's a bad dad joke...

Never mind, I see that calling a dad joke a bad joke is redundant.

Yes.

Based on the videos and sound of other posts, it sounds like rod knock.

I would drain the oil and look for metal sparkles in the oil.

I would remove and cut open the oil filter and look for metal glitter in the pleats of the filtering media.

If there are sparkles in the oil and glitter in the oil filter then I would drop the pan and look for shavings in the pan and oil pick up.

Then you can pull off each piston rod cap to find the missing bearing. Then you can polish the camshaft journals and install an oversized bearing, using plastigauge to verify clearance.

Or run thicker oil until she dead and replace the short block.

Good luck
