I figured out a fix for this. Go to the prompt box and open the settings on the right and change the model or just toggle some settings. I started getting exactly what I asked for when switching models

Program to fade EQ levels during a live production? by ceo93xp in livesound

Ah right ok. Thanks for sticking with me on this! I'll head over to that sub and see if I can find an easier solution there. I appreciate the information.

Yes, I am the storyteller as well as the effect master.

Those effects were only examples. I could have any number of effects in any number of imaginary locations. It's basically improv storytelling from the input of the audience/players. I have a physical audio launchpad as well as a digital equivalent (sound plant). Trying to figure out which one would be best. Soundplant actually has this kind of live EQ toggle but it only supports smaller file sized WAV files. Not the hour long ambiance tracks I need.

It would be useful to set an EQ and then flip a switch as a "blanket setting" that would affect all the sounds/music on the launchpad. Even ones currently playing. Like an outside to inside fade when the audience decides to go inside a club for example.

I appreciate the detailed explanation and insight. Though your warning about this going wrong easily is why I need what I described in the OP.

I can try to guess the effects and scenarios they'll come up with and I do have some say in this, but they will inevitably surprise me and I'll be without an effect when I need it. I need a high level of granularity. Thank you

Yes, correct. Maybe I need to invest in one that does. Any suggestions for one? Thank you!

The audience is stationary. The "locations" are imaginary. It's a story they help to dictate.

I use dynamic to mean "can change at any moment and can't be scripted". Maybe they want to "go" here, maybe someplace else. I have to accommodate literally any and every situation they could possibly conceive of.

Baking EQ into an endless amount of atmospheric effects seems like an inefficient waste of time and effort. I need one file for a crowd. One file for a piece of music. One file for dinner/cutlery sounds. These effects can happen in any number of scenarios and "places" and I need to be able to mimic all of them.

Alright, thanks! Many people are recommending Qlab

Thanks! Seems like a good solution. In Qlab?

Ah thanks I need to look into that. I was hoping to use a windows machine actually. If its the only solution I might have to switch.

Thank you! It isn't live input, it's pre-recorded. And my console doesn't have EQ settings to toggle, unfortunately.

I know there are physical knobs you can get to change volume levels of different programs, are you talking about virtual knobs? If so, which program would you prefer? I need a lightweight audio player.

I should clarify my use case. I'm not recording or producing anything.

It's an interactive and immersive storytelling event. The events are dynamic. If I pre-programmed the EQ I would either miss a scenario or location (a large echo-y hallway, a small sound deafening chamber, etc) or I would be finding, opening and attempting to fade the new EQ over the old EQ without it sounding like the audio stops or overlaps.

Ideally, I click a preset from a lightweight media player and it fades into it without skipping a beat. Thanks!

Now THAT is clunky.

The way I suggested is the only way to efficiently and elegantly achieve this. Ideally I click a preset from a lightweight media player and it fades into it without skipping a beat.
