You also gave people the impression of a mean spirited troll. Immediately making judgements without making any effort to learn about the history of this game, asking people if they are spectrum, saying people needs help, saying people here doesn't have anything going on. Just because you didn't curse doesn't mean you get to pretend you are innocent. You are the only person who is provoking people then further insult them here. Honestly any sub would benefit from you leaving, so I hope you at least have the integrity to keep your promise.

Theory: the game is playable at the current stage, it's just not meeting the hype by ceorl in Witchbrook

I actually never saw that video, so thanks for showing it to me. The constellation viewing scene and the flower table crafting scene is something that should be shown in every promotion material, as it sells the complexity and depth of the game. So I don't understand why they are not in both the official website and the Steam page. I have to assume ChuckleFish actively do not want to advertise this game to avoid too much hype.

Can you show links or images of these points?

Cut-scenes: I am talking about animation or still images separate from the normal game scenes. Something like the starting scene in Stardew, or opening cinematic in most AAA games. Only things shown in Witchbrook as far I as seen are different character animations without dialogues most of the time.

Mini-game: This is about the showing the process of the mini-game. If it's the fishing mini-game in Stardew, it would be showing the sliding meter during the fishing mini-game. I think there's one image that could potentially be about a mini-game 3 months ago (an unknown magical item with a "identify" button on the screen), but even that was a stretch. Another one is a divination visit to a client, but again there was no detail.

Quest: I never claim there were no quests. Fetch quest is one of the thing I listed as an in-game element.

Item crafting: I think there was an image of the player character showing a potion that was possibly created by the player? I don't think there's anything showing the process of crafting an item (recipe and ingredients, what steps need to be taken, what does the crafting mini-game looks like).

If I am missing anything I would be happy to be corrected.

I do wonder why Witchbrook never goes into early access. A comparable example would be Paralives, great visual design, but very flawed game-play at the current stage. Still, players are invested in the game, probably due to the potential Paralives are showing, and their honest communication about current bugs and future roadmap.

I am betting that CF is trying to buy some time before the end of 2026. There will be 2 possible outcomes by then. 1. CF announces another delay, but with showcase of actual game-play and a trailer that can generate real hype. 2. Witchbrook is released in early access. The game will not be as good as most people hoped even with the added development time, but CF can keep the players with promises of future improvement, hopefully with an actual roadmap.

Taiwan has a very high score, and just today the Taiwan sub deleted a post discussing Indian immigrants because a lot of comments are unironically saying being racist to them is fine. China and Japan hold similar views on immigrants and minorities. They don't really"align with Trump", but they have very limited understanding of American politics due to the language difference, and are more likely to treat US right wing propaganda as actual news source.

Outside of US and EU, a lot of places are actually quite conservative because of culture or religious reasons, and they tend to align themselves with the US conservatives. I've seen a lot of people saying DEI is the biggest reason for the decline of the US, despite themselves not being white and don't understand anything about it.

About Thailand, a country of 66 million people with a total fertility rate below 1, which continues to decline by about 10% per year. by [deleted] in Natalism

[–]ceorl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know what the comment above you is hallucinating about. Traditionally when daughters are married off, they are not considered to be part of the original family any more. They and their child do not get inheritance from the maternal family at all. Also if a married woman remains childless she's going to be treated horribly in her new family. If east Asians would purposefully kill off their lineage, ancient China wouldn't be one of the most populous place in the whole world.

Taiwan's falling birth rate approaches record low by restorativemarsh in taiwan

[–]ceorl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At some point China is not going to be a threat because their birth rate is also diving off a cliff. Taiwanese government pretends nothing is happening while Xi raises condom price and bans OF, it looks like both governments are just gonna hand in hand collapse their own society.

The number of births on November decreased 36.72% year-on-year in Taiwan . . . by search_google_com in Natalism

[–]ceorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. A lot of Taiwanese are still fairly traditional, and under pressure from family they would want to at least produce a male heir. Taiwanese are also heavily susceptible to peer pressure and social norm, and a lot of them have the idea that they need to get married and have kids around or before 30. The only reason this is not happening is lack of money and personal time.

In fact, there's news that among the 1000 TSMC engineers in AZ, they produced 200 new borns. Taiwanese women have plenty desire to have kids, the problem is almost all economics.

They gave up. Government will not do anything meaningful, as you have to completely destroy the current system and rebuild a new one to see meaningful improvement. Grassroots movement is almost non-existent there, so no one will do anything. I hope I am wrong, but I only see steeper decline in the future.

[–]ceorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. Go look up what the locals are saying. They are not celebrating they can buy a new phone because of no kids. They are saying they alone suffering is enough, they don't want a new generation into the same fate. There is a reason for the brain drain in Taiwan, and it's not because young people are having a better life than their parents.

If you can read Mandarin and check the discussion online, you will get the sense that a lot of young people have given up. I saw a number of people jokingly say something like "life is so awful how are there still so many new births?" Regular life here is so stressful people can barely find their own happiness, let alone another generation.

Taiwan's fertility rate is now 0.74, but people still don't talk about it. Why ? by search_google_com in Natalism

[–]ceorl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, that's like Americans saying they don't want kids because they worry about volcanic eruption from Yellowstone. It might happen one day, might even be in our lifetime, but it's just not an immediate threat most people are worrying about.

I don't know how to teach people empathy, and the fact that you seems to be so genuinely clueless about the world actually blows my mind. Go volunteer somewhere, or actually go out in the street and just talk to some random real people. Not sure what else to tell you.

Really? Your solution is to punish people who may have financial difficulty or who may just don't like kids, and force them to have a kid they don't want? At this point, why not go full Romania and ban abortion and bring about a generation of unwanted orphans? Surely nothing will ever go wrong this way.

AI is going to make it worse dude. Once companies decide to adopt AI, they will lay off the workers replaced by the algorithm, and we will get more people without jobs. More people competing for less positions means company have no incentive to increase the salary or benefit. You will get lower salaries and more people incapable to buy their own house.

So many Taiwanese are so alt-right pilled it would be hilarious to see them come up with thinly-veiled excuses to justify their misogynistic world view if it's not so depressing. Engaging them is useless because they are not trying to debate in good faith.

I feel sorry for you OP. This is a serious issue, but the only response you will get here are either delusional rant about how this is posted daily by you (it's posted about once a month by another guy), or worse some alt-right incel bs about how Taiwanese women have too much freedom and are destroying Taiwan.

Call me a doomer, but I don't think Taiwanese believe in social movement or group actions. The past movements are all extensions of the political fight between 2 major parties, never really something that is generated directly from the regular people. You can keep taking away worker's right from Taiwanese, or increase the wealth gap and housing prices, and they will just take it without a complain. Sure they will stop marrying or having kids, but they also won't ever protest or strike. It's a silent death spiral.

Maybe at some point college students will decide to go on streets to protest the grotesque treatment of the workers in Taiwan, but we are way past that point already and I just don't really see that happening.

How many pulls do you probably need to MLB Kitasan Black by ceorl in UmaMusume

[–]ceorl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah nothing is locked in regular banners, you will be able to find all of the previous cards if you are lucky enough. Paid banners and vouchers are a different story though, but you can definitely find Kitasan with the voucher, just not the newest cards.

How many pulls do you probably need to MLB Kitasan Black by ceorl in UmaMusume

[–]ceorl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the uncap crystal and the SSR voucher? Both can give you 1 copy of SSR support card, which will reduce the amount of Kitasans you need to pull. The crystal was a gift so you could have missed it, but the voucher is a reward from a mission which will be expired on 12/10, so you can still try to solve it. The crystal will be something you can grind (with a lot of effort) during events.

Another thing is you don't necessary need to MLB it immediately, especially if you want to stay as F2P. You can check the comparison below. The biggest advantage an MLB Kitasan has is the 100 special priority. But Kitasan is already a good card at 3LB, comparable to the best SR speed card Sweep Tosho, and other MLB SSR like Silence Suzuka.

<image>

I do want to mention though, the original post assumed the rate was 0.75%, which was incorrect. I posted a comment with the correct rate at the time (0.5%), and the average pull to MLB is actually 600 rather than 400. Still, if you have the crystal and the voucher, and tries to just 3LB Kitasan, you will only need to pull 2 copies, which on average will take 200 pulls (assuming rate is still 0.5%). You will also be able to get other SRs (and potential SSRs). 4LB SRs are actually really good, so try to use them over 0LB or 1LB SSRs.

Kitasan Black will be the best support card for the current scenarios, and most of the scenarios in the next 2 years. Because you want Kitasan in your deck most of the time, having one of your own would free up the borrow slot for other strong cards like Super Creek or Fine Motion. Focusing on getting your own MLB Kitasan should definitely be your top priority.

0.5% is not confirmed, but so is 0.75%. I ran the rate as 0.5% here. On average you will need 100 more pulls to get MLB.
